We are sorry to hear that you had such an experience. On the day of the incident, we followed government announcements and police instructions to ensure we were heading in the right direction. Our priority is always the safety of our customers, and we made adjustments based on that principle. We regret that despite this, you were unable to accept the route change according to police directives in such an emergency. We're also sorry that despite multiple explanations regarding the train cancellations due to wildfires, resulting in the tour ending in Calgary, you remained dissatisfied. We did our best to find alternative ways for you to return to Vancouver, but you continued to express your displeasure by shouting and using rude language towards our staff. Although we deeply regret the disruption caused by the wildfires, which were beyond anyone’s control, we still wish you a wonderful day.

    Asked on May 8th, 2026

Do we have access to our luggage on the train? It seems I saw somewhere that we were only allowed one suitcase. Is this true? What size are we allowed?

    Transport
    • TourlandOperatorWritten May 2026

      Yes, each passenger is allowed:

      • 1 personal item
      • 1 carry-on item (Max. size: 64 x 41 x 30 cm / 25 x 16 x 12 in., max 50 lbs)
      • 1 checked bag (Max. size: 76 x 48 x 30 cm / 30 x 19 x 12 in., max 50 lbs)

We would suggest bringing any important or needed items with you onboard the train, as you cannot access to checked luggage during the journey.

      TravelerWritten April 2026

I have had great difficulty with Tour Radar so far. I can now see the trip on the Tour Radar app. I should not be having this much difficulty seeing the details about this trip. I accidentally typed in my wrong email at the beginning and that caused all kinds of problems. I would like to print this itinerary. I still need to book the hotel when we fly in and the transfer and hotel when we fly out, but prices are supposed to be very high for airfare right now, and I am waiting to see when the prices might go down. Do you have any idea when I should book the flights?

    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

The schedule for this tour would be (sequence may change ):
Day 1 Vancouver — VIA Rail Canada (Train)
Day 2 VIA Rail Canada – Jasper Town – Maligne Lake – Maligne Canyon (Train - bus)
Day 3 Jasper — Athabasca Falls — Columbia Icefield (Ice Explorer/ Glacier Skywalk) — Bow Lake — Peyto Lake (bus)

    Asked on April 10th, 2026

How do we book the sleeper class accommodation on the train and the meals that go with it. Also my husband is Coeliac and requires gluten free meals. Can you cater for this on the train and other included meals on the trip?

    Accommodation
    Meals
    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

Regarding the VIA train, we would be happy to assist you with upgrading your included train ticket to Sleeper Class. For June 8, only the berth option is currently available. The total upgrade fee for 2 berths is CAD $1,252.62. Please note that the price is subject to change and seats are subject to availability. If you would like to proceed, we recommend confirming as soon as possible so we can secure seats for you at the current price.

For your husband's Coeliac (gluten-free) requirement, we can submit a special meal request to the provider. However, special meal requests are subject to availability and final confirmation by the service provider. We also recommend informing the service staff on site about your dietary requirements to ensure your meals are correctly served.

Please note that meal service is only included for passengers in Sleeper Plus / Sleeper Class. As for the tour portion, breakfast is provided by the hotel each morning and is a compulsory inclusion. We do not recommend adding the optional group meals, as they are arranged based on a fixed daily menu and are not customizable. Please rest assured that all stops and hotels are located in convenient areas with a variety of food options available, allowing you to choose meals based on your own preference.

    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

The only part that may be difficult to accommodate specific dietary requirements is the optional group lunch, as it is arranged with a fixed menu for the entire group. This meal is optional, which is why we recommended not adding it.

For the rest of the tour, you will have plenty of flexibility. Breakfast is provided by the hotels, which can usually accommodate gluten-free requests, and all stops are in convenient locations with a wide variety of restaurants where gluten-free options are commonly available. Additionally, if you choose to upgrade to Sleeper Class on the train, we can also submit a gluten-free meal request to VIA Rail.

How much is the upgrade to sleeper class?

    Price / Availability
    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

Please refer to the information below:
September 25: Cabin upgrade fee CAD $3,300 for two adults
October 5: Sleeper berth upgrade fee CAD $1,950 for two adults
Please note that prices are subject to change. Currently, these upgrades are in the same car as automatically assigned by the system; this may change soon, and we are unable to guarantee it.
All other tour dates are sold out for upgrades.

    Asked on April 2nd, 2026

Can flight be included and also airport pick up be included?

    Flights / Transfers
    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

Flights are not included in this package. Guests will need to arrange their own flights from their hometown to Vancouver. This is a rail + coach tour. On Day 1, guests will depart from Vancouver Pacific Station and travel on VIA Rail to Jasper. Arrival will be on Day 2, and the journey will then continue with a bus tour through the Rocky Mountains. The tour ends in Calgary. We recommend booking a departure flight from Calgary International Airport after 21:30PM.

Are the prices fer 2027 available? If so, can I have an idea of the total cost for 1 adult and 1 17 year-old. Perhaps include the 3 excursion package that I read about in your brochure

      Jonathan

      TravelerWritten April 2026

I was also wondering if we can have an idea of the price range for the meals on the train?

    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

Regarding additional meals on the VIA train, prices typically range from CAD $5 to CAD $30. Light options such as salads and sandwiches are usually available, and the final price will be determined at the time of purchase.
