We are sorry to hear that you had such an experience. On the day of the incident, we followed government announcements and police instructions to ensure we were heading in the right direction. Our priority is always the safety of our customers, and we made adjustments based on that principle. We regret that despite this, you were unable to accept the route change according to police directives in such an emergency. We're also sorry that despite multiple explanations regarding the train cancellations due to wildfires, resulting in the tour ending in Calgary, you remained dissatisfied. We did our best to find alternative ways for you to return to Vancouver, but you continued to express your displeasure by shouting and using rude language towards our staff. Although we deeply regret the disruption caused by the wildfires, which were beyond anyone’s control, we still wish you a wonderful day.

How much is the upgrade to sleeper class?

    Price / Availability
    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

October 5: Sleeper berth upgrade fee CAD $1,950 for two adults

Can flight be included and also airport pick up be included?

    Flights / Transfers
    • TourlandOperatorWritten April 2026

Flights are not included in this package. Guests will need to arrange their own flights from their hometown to Vancouver. This is a rail + coach tour. On Day 1, guests will depart from Vancouver Pacific Station and travel on VIA Rail to Jasper. Arrival will be on Day 2, and the journey will then continue with a bus tour through the Rocky Mountains. The tour ends in Calgary. We recommend booking a departure flight from Calgary International Airport after 21:30PM.

What hotel do you recommend we stay at in Vancouver?

    Accommodation
    • TourlandOperatorWritten March 2026

The sleeper berth upgrade has been added to your booking at a price of CAD $937.50 per person.
Please note that both price and availability are subject to change. At the moment, VIA Rail has arranged the berths in the same car. However, availability is limited and may sell out soon, as we are unable to hold the space until payment is processed.

    Asked on March 3rd, 2026

Could you please provide more information on the itinerary, inclusions, and accommodation, particularly regarding the sleeper train upgrade? Additionally, it would be great if you could highlight the key differences compared to your 7-day rail adventure tour.

    Accommodation
    Tour Details
    • TourlandOperatorWritten March 2026

Option 1: Tour 270585 — "7-Day West Canada Tour: Vancouver & Rockies with VIA Railway | Departure from Vancouver"
This itinerary combines city highlights + Vancouver Island + the Rockies. It includes a guided Vancouver city tour, a full day trip Vancouver–Victoria–Vancouver (including BC Ferries, Butchart Gardens, and time in Victoria Downtown), and then continues onward by VIA Rail to the Rockies. It's ideal if you'd like to see more of the West Coast before heading into the mountains, and you prefer a more guided start with hotel pick-up options.

Option 2: Tour 216748 — "5-Day Vancouver to Rockies VIA Rail Adventure"
This is the shorter, more direct Rockies-focused version. It starts immediately with VIA Rail from Vancouver to Jasper, with self-arranged arrival and check-in at Vancouver Pacific Central Station (no Vancouver/Victoria sightseeing included). From Jasper onward, it covers the key Rockies highlights (e.g., Maligne Lake/Canyon, Icefields Parkway, Columbia Icefield optional, Lake Louise, Yoho, and Banff). It's best if your priority is to get to the Rockies faster, and you don't need the extra West Coast sightseeing.

      The most important takeaways:
      - 270585 (7 days) = Vancouver city + Victoria/Butchart Gardens + Rockies (more variety, more inclusions, more guided start).
      - 216748 (5 days) = Rockies-first (shorter, faster pace, no Vancouver/Victoria touring; starts with self-arranged train station check-in).

    • TourlandOperatorWritten March 2026

The main difference between the 5-day and 7-day tours is that the 7-day tour includes exploration of Vancouver and Victoria during the first two days. As the tours that include the VIA Rail experience are very popular, please let us know your preferred departure date so we can check availability and the sleeper berth upgrade fee for you as soon as possible.

How many days on the train?

    • TourlandOperatorWritten February 2026

For this tour, you will board the VIA Rail train on Day 1, with a scheduled departure time of 3:00 PM. The ticket is originally arranged in Economy Class. If you prefer, you may upgrade to a Sleeper Berth.
On the following day, you will arrive at Jasper Station at approximately 11:00 AM. Please note that the exact arrival time may vary depending on weather and rail conditions. Upon arrival in Jasper, your tour guide will meet you at the station, and you will then join the coach tour from Day 2 through Day 5.
For more detailed itinerary information, we kindly recommend reviewing the tour page carefully.

If you would like to check the upgrade fee for the Sleeper Berth, please let us know your preferred tour date. We will be happy to assist you. Please note that this is a very popular train tour, and Sleeper Berths may sell out quickly. Therefore, we recommend making your decision as soon as possible.
