  The Canadian Rockies are absolutely breathtaking, and the scenery throughout Banff and Jasper was the best part of our trip. However, we were less impressed with the tour experience itself. A major concern was that our group was predominantly Mandarin-speaking, and a considerable amount of the guide’s commentary was in Mandarin. We were not informed before booking that the tour would be bilingual. This should have been made clear in advance, as it is an important consideration when choosing a guided tour. We also expected more from the commentary provided by the guide. One of the main reasons for joining an organised tour is to learn more about the places you are visiting. We had hoped to hear engaging information about the history of the Canadian Rockies, the development of Banff and Jasper, the geography and geology of the region, Indigenous history, and other interesting local stories. Unfortunately, the English commentary did not provide the depth or insight we were expecting. There is no question that Banff and Jasper are magnificent and well worth visiting. The scenery alone made the journey memorable. However, we felt the tour mainly took us from one attraction to another rather than adding the knowledge and local perspective that a good guided tour should provide. Overall, an incredible destination, but only an average guided-tour experience.Show more

The sites visited were all worth the drive. I want to single out guide Raymond for his ability to entertain and inform, and his efforts to keep everyone having a good time. Although I was a bit disappointed with the lunch during the first part of the trip and briefly got lost, I am so grateful to Ramond for finding me. If I were to rate the guide on a scale of 100, I would give him a perfect 100/100. As for the scenery—it was absolutely spectacular. The gondola ride, the town of Banff, and even the weather were all amazing. If you are planning a trip to escape the heat like I was, I highly recommend booking this tour, as it gets quite cold in Banff.
