  1. Day 1

    Zagreb

    You'll arrive in Zagreb and settle into your hotel at your own pace. Take a walk along the chestnut-lined Strossmayer Promenade to get your first sense of the city and what's around you. Come evening, you'll meet up with your Travel Director and other travelers for dinner and a glass of wine.

  2. Day 2

    Zagreb

    Your Local Expert leads you through Zagreb's Lower Town where you'll see the Art Pavilion, Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Zrinjevac Park. From there, head to St. Mark's Church and Lotrščak Tower, then walk back through the Stone Gate. The afternoon gives you time to relax at the hotel or wander around on your own.

    Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes

    The morning is yours to spend at the hotel or take an optional trip to the Zagorje region to check out local traditions and Marshall Tito's house. In the afternoon, you'll travel to your hotel inside Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with cascading lakes set within forests and grasslands.

  4. Day 4

    Plitvice Lakes to Split

    At Plitvice, you'll choose between two options: join a Local Expert to explore the national park and learn about habitat protection, or visit the Tara Community Centre where local women produce handicrafts. Later, travel along the coast and stop in Trogir, a UNESCO site founded by Greeks over 2,300 years ago, then continue to Split.

    Split to Dubrovnik

    You'll explore Diocletian's 1,700-year-old palace with a Local Expert, going down into the ancient cellars. Walk through the stone streets and arcaded squares to see St. Duje's, the Temple of Jupiter, and the Golden Gate. Head along the coast to Dubrovnik, then take a bay cruise if weather allows. Dinner includes sparkling wine and local specialties.

    Join your Local Expert for a walking tour through Dubrovnik's walled Old Town within 16th-century bastions. You'll pass Onofrio's Fountain, check out the Old Jewish Quarter and synagogue, and see the cathedral and the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries.

    Insight Vacations excelled themselves with this itinerary. It is amazing how many countries you visit on this trip. The hotels were of a very high standard and the fact that they are centrally located made it easier to explore. Our Travel Director was so knowledgeable, helpful and charming.       Travel times on our trips vary from day to day depending on the destination. For your comfort, we make regular stops and try to keep each section no longer than 3 hours. The activity level for this trip is balanced: Typically features up to 1.6-4.8 km of walking per day and might involve some uneven surfaces, such as cobblestones and stairs.

      We do offer single rooms for a single supplement charge. Most if not all of the hotels should be air conditioned. Most hotels have basic wi-fi and may offer higher broadband packages for purchase.

    • For any tour departing before May 8th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 8th, 2026, a minimum payment of $200 is required to confirm your booking with Insight Vacations. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Insight Vacations will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
