  Sound of music tour was a waste of money very disappointing. We went to Oberammergau on a Sunday. Everything was shut it was like a ghost town. Should of scheduled it another day or skipped it. We got back on the bus and left. Swarovski was such a great surprise. The art installations were interesting. The restaurant was the prettiest, excellent food, great service and good wine. Over all the tour was wonderful and I would do another version again. I really enjoy the signature product. Oh Steve the bus driver was exceptional.Show more

  This is our second visit to the Hinterbruhl restaurant in Munich, which seems to be popular with guided tour groups....
  This is our second visit to the Hinterbruhl restaurant in Munich, which seems to be popular with guided tour groups. Our first visit was in Dec 2015 on the beginning of a tour with Insight Vacations, and I didn’t particularly care for it, as it was a “touristy” place. The latest visit, two weeks ago (Dec 2017), was on the final night of another Insight Vacations tour that began in Vienna. I have to say that I was very disappointed by the server who argued with me over the supposed quantity of beer in my glass, claiming that the 1/3 amount of beer, and 2/3 amount of foam in the glass, constituted a full beer. When he served it to me, I said “this is a joke!” He replied “what is a joke?” I pointed to the beer glass. He said “why joke?” and said it was all beer. In his words, he said while pointing to the actual beer, “this beer” and then pointing to the foam, said “this beer” “All beer!” I told him that I had lived in Germany for nearly eight years and this beer glass was a joke. He replied “this Germany, now different. Not same as when you lived here.” Judging by his accent and attitude, I figured him for a transplant from the Balkans. My Australian tour guest sitting opposite the table said to me, “In Australia, we’d hit him over the head with that glass if he served it to us like that.” I didn't drink a drop of that beer and took a photo after the foam settled to share with Insight. Please contact me and I'll be happy to forward the picture of the lousy glass of beer. As far as I’m concerned, I believe Insight Vacations is getting ripped off by this restaurant while the restaurant flim flams Insight on their package drink costs. As for the non-German server, I wish they’d fire him. BTW, the tour itself (Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Munich) was great and Karen was a superb tour director.
