  I am requesting private tour options for 2–4 travelers for an Italy itinerary. Preferred travel dates: September or October, must complete travel by late October. Departure from Albany, NY (ALB) or Syracuse, NY (SYR). Fly into Rome (FCO preferred), return Florence (FLR preferred) or Rome. Include airport transfers both arrival and departure. NO trains (strict requirement) - private motor coach or private driver/van only for all land transportation. Minimum 4-star hotels with daily breakfast included, centrally located or well-rated properties preferred. Rome (2–3 days minimum): Colosseum + Roman Forum + Palatine Hill visit, Vatican Museums + Sistine Chapel (skip-the-line tickets required), St. John Lateran Church, evening free time. Florence (3–4 days minimum): Private transfer from Rome to Florence (NO train), Duomo area walking tour, Accademia Gallery (Michelangelo's David) – skip-the-line required, free time for independent exploration. Tuscany / Chianti Region: Full-day excursion to Chianti region, wine tasting experience + olive oil estate visit, traditional Tuscan countryside experience. Siena (1–2 nights if feasible): Cooking class experience in Tuscany/Siena area strongly preferred, walking tour of historic Siena. Additional requested towns (flexible): San Gimignano, Assisi, Orvieto. English-speaking private or small group guides, skip-the-line access for major attractions, comfortable pacing (not overly rushed), mix of guided tours + free time. Client is very experienced traveler to Italy. Prefers a well-structured but flexible itinerary. Open to suggestions if certain cities need to be adjusted for pacing or cost efficiency. Interested in comparable or optimized private tour options if exact itinerary is too dense. Please provide: Private tour options (10–11 days preferred), detailed itinerary breakdown, hotel category examples (4-star minimum), pricing for 2 pax and 4 pax scenarios, any recommended modifications for flow/efficiency.

    We are not able to offer this tour on a private basis, but we are happy to assist you if you would like to travel with one of our groups in the future. Please be advised that Contiki tours have an age restriction, requiring guests to be between 18-35 years old to participate.

  Is it possible to go to this tour alone? There will be plus expenses because of it? Just asking for future reference. Probably I will not travel now, maybe next year.

    It is possible to go on the tour alone. The overall cost of the trip will remain the same. If you prefer a single room, a single supplement fee will apply. If you choose a twin shared room, you will be paired with another solo traveler of the same gender. Contiki trips have an age restriction and are only available to travelers aged 18-35 years old.

  We are interested in a tour but see the age range goes up to age 35 only. We are active 70's age. So does that mean we cannot go? Italian expresso winter is tour we like, b/c we want to see Venice and Cinque de Terre.

    Apologies, all our Contiki tours are strictly for travellers ages 18 to 35 years old only. We are unable to accommodate travellers outside of this age range.

  Do you have any tours comparable to the Contiki tours that are made for older folks that still have great health. Everything thing I find is for the under 35 crowd. ie: Italian Expresso tours

We have a responsibility to adhere to our promise of travel for 18-35's and provide the type of holiday our travelers expect.     As it is so close to departure this trip is a definite departure so therefore will be operating. I would recommend that if interested you book quickly as space is filling up.

  how strict are your age range rules, I'm a young 42 year old and the Italian espresso trio seems perfect for me apart from the age range

    Unfortunately, the trip you have enquired about is a youth specific tour run by Contiki and geared exclusively towards younger travellers between the ages of 18-35. They are sadly unable to make any exceptions to this. These trips are very popular with backpackers and university students who are going on vacation looking for a heavy focus on nightlife and are happy to use budget multi-share hostels as accommodation (4 to 6 people to a room, in bunk beds and shared bathrooms).

  I wanted to ask which hotels we will be staying at or at least when we would have more details on the accommodation as I'm planning to book for the 12th. I also wanted to ask if it would be possible to check in early or leave my baggage at the hotel on the first day as I will be arriving around 9 am.

    If you have a booking, the pre-trip hotel in Rome will be the Hotel Genova Rome. Check-in is at 2pm and early check in will be based on availability when you arrive at the hotel. I recommend asking if there is a room available when you arrive. If not, the hotel does offer luggage storage.
