  NH7 must be one of the worst roads in the world. pot hole paradise. Spent hours being bumped up and down, and swung from side to side, as the driver did his level best to navigate the hole and road that the tarmac was gone. Its not the tours fault, but the government. The roading is beyond dire in some places. The roading repair is sporadic at best, and non existent in the main. Due to huge size or Madagascar, investment in roading and transportation is paramount to boosting the economy. The tour was good, the guide and driver were both first class. Accommodation was good, the people of Madagascar were friendly and welcoming. Food was good. The tour destinations were good. I would have liked to have gone to the rain forest, and cut out some of the other locations we went too, which for me and my travelling companion were of little interest. I am very glad to have visiting the Island, and had that experience.Show more

  VeVe and Mummie were Outstanding! Outstanding! Outstanding! VeVe our tour guide found the best hotels and places to see- like the beach in Tulear; Spiny forest with a zebu ride; Turtle rescue farm; Isola rock formations; The three hour hike and back to the swimming hole in the canyon with descriptions of the plants and animals; providing outstanding historical information about the cities and culture of Madagascar!! VeVe our Tour guide was very attentive to our requests as well. As we were driving back from Tulear to Madagascar, if we made a request to stop here or there it was met with a happy word of certainly or of course! Our driver Mummie also got us quickly and efficiently to our destinations all along the way! Again, this was an Outstanding tour from Green Island Discovery showing a lot of southern up to middle Madagascar!!!Show more

  I had a good time on the tour, especially the Isalo NP visit. I saw a lot of the endemic species, beautiful landscape and nice accommodations. Wi-Fi is spotty throughout Madagascar. I selected this tour due to the trip length (8-days) and lower physical rating than others I saw. Four of the days were essentially "windshield tours" of the varied landscape of Madagascar along the RN7 with a few lovely stops throughout; (the driver did a great job navigating the poor road conditions). Two nights on the beach in Ifaty and the 8Km trek through Isalo were highlights of the trip. The only real complaint I had was not being picked up at the airport promptly (I had to call the office and wait for the ride). Other than that, I thought the crew did a great job.Show more
