We booked our trip with Travelia Safari and were very happy with the overall experience. We are travellers from Germany. From the very beginning, communication was excellent. We first got in touch with Aristide and he was highly responsive and attentive to all our wishes. The itinerary was adjusted several times to match our preferences, and everything was handled in a very transparent and professional way. The planning and organization were very well done. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our guide and driver. Eric was our guide for the first days, and he picked us up punctually and safely brought us to the hotel. Everything was smooth and well organized from the start. On the following day, we continued our journey with a larger vehicle, a new driver, and Eric (Young Guide). The guide spoke excellent English and clearly had a lot of knowledge and experience. He explained everything in detail, answered all our questions, and stayed with us throughout the trip. As we had booked a private tour, the itinerary was very flexible, and he was always happy to stop whenever we wanted to take photos or explore places further. It was a great experience. The driver (Manoa) also drove very safely, was reliable, and always attentive to our needs. Even on a long 10-hour return journey, he remained patient, calm, and professional. The car was also very clean, which reflected a high standard of service. During the trip in the east, we also noticed that all the hotels were consistently of a very high standard—mostly four-star or luxury level—and the restaurants selected were clearly tourist-oriented but always of good quality. The overall selection and standard of accommodation and dining was very well chosen. Later, we flew to the west of Madagascar, where we were welcomed by a new guide, Liantsoa, and another driver. This day in Morondava became one of the highlights of the entire trip. Once again, all our wishes were taken into account. We were able to use Riksha, Zebu and, visit places freely, and stop wherever we wanted. Lina, who grew up locally, was extremely knowledgeable and shared many personal insights. He even guided us through Kirindy Forest, explaining the area from his own experience. It was a very memorable and enriching day with a passionate and experienced guide. During the planning, we also had a situation where the original hotel near Kirindy did not fully meet our expectations. When we asked whether the plan could be adjusted to reduce wildlife exposure and instead do a day trip, the team agreed without hesitation and rearranged the itinerary accordingly. They even replaced the originally planned hotel and arranged an upgrade, which felt like a thoughtful surprise and made us very happy. We also changed our plans on the last day and cancelled a planned day tour in Antananarivo and this was handled without any issues. Throughout the journey, whenever we expressed concerns or special wishes—whether about comfort, rest, or scheduling—they always responded immediately and found practical solutions. Their flexibility and willingness to adapt truly stood out. After the trip, everything was also well organized for our return. We were safely brought back to the capital, picked up from our hotel, and transferred to the international airport without any issues. Overall, although it is a local company, which initially gave us some uncertainty, the service met an international standard in terms of punctuality, cleanliness, organization, and reliability. We can 100% recommend Travelia Safari. Special thanks to Aristide, Eric and Liantsoa for making our trip so special. We returned home with wonderful memories and always felt safe and well taken care of.

ZHIBAI • traveled in October
Our journey in Madagascar was incredibly enjoyable. Aristide, the head of Travelia Safari, made thorough arrangements and provided timely travel information. Our guides, Jose and Tovo, were both friendly and accompanied us throughout the trip. Together, we trekked over mountains and valleys, discovered many adorable lemurs, and saw the beautiful Tsingy and baobab trees. This was a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable trip.

- Spring 2026
Madagascar's spring routes have our travelers buzzing about a few standout combinations. The tours linking Andasibe's rainforests with the Tsingy formations are particularly excellent, with guides like Solofo and Patrick leading wildlife walks to spot golden bamboo lemurs at their most active. Eastern rainforest circuits shine in spring, where you'll join dawn treks to find Indri lemurs calling through misty canopies, and spend afternoons learning local woodcarving techniques in Ambositra. The western paths through Kirindy Forest to the Avenue of Baobabs work perfectly this season, blending wildlife tracking, river explorations and cultural encounters. Our guests appreciate how these seasonal tours adapt to their interests, from extra photography time with rare aye-aye lemurs at Palmarium Reserve, joining village music sessions along the Tsiribihina River or diving into local traditions. Tours connecting Ranomafana's lush valleys with Isalo's dramatic canyons are among our most requested, offering a mix of wildlife spotting, tree planting initiatives and also visits to traditional silk workshops.

- Summer 2026
Madagascar opens up beautifully in summer with tours that make the most of the good weather. Our main routes blend three different experiences - you'll begin in Andasibe's eastern rainforests looking for Indri lemurs, move south into Ranomafana's valley systems and finally head west to catch the sun setting behind the Baobab trees. What makes these trips work so well is how they combine wildlife watching with local culture - your day might start tracking golden bamboo lemurs and end learning traditional woodcarving techniques in Ambositra. The Tsiribihina river tours really shine in summer too; you can camp right on the sandbars and often join nearby villages for their evening music and traditional dancing.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn creates perfect conditions for exploring Madagascar's wildlife routes, especially when combining the Tsingy rock formations with the coastal regions. Our 10-14 day circuits from Antananarivo westward let you experience how the landscape changes day by day. Morning walks through Andasibe-Mantadia often bring you close to Indri families, while afternoons at the Palmarium Reserve give you a shot at spotting the rare Aye-Aye. These autumn routes work well because they mix up the activity levels - one morning you're climbing through limestone formations, then that afternoon you're drifting along the Manambolo River in a local pirogue boat. Our travelers tell us the night walks are particularly good this season; you'll often spot mouse lemurs, chameleons in various colors and birds that only come out after dark.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Madagascar's winter tours combine rich wildlife encounters and cultural discoveries that set them apart in our booking data. The comprehensive 14-day journey starts with Indri lemur tracking through Andasibe's eastern rainforests, moves inland to find golden bamboo lemurs in misty Ranomafana valleys, and finishes at the Avenue of Baobabs for remarkable sunset photography. Our guests often mention how guides maximize winter wildlife spotting, knowing the perfect times to find nocturnal creatures like mouse lemurs, leaf-tailed geckos and other secretive species. The 10-day western circuit blends time at Kirindy forest, where you'll spot unusual giant jumping rats and fossa, with laid-back river travel down the Tsiribihina, sleeping on peaceful sandbanks near riverside communities. Winter provides photographers with excellent clear conditions, perfect for capturing everything from tiny chameleons to towering ancient baobabs. The guides earn consistent praise for weaving together wildlife experiences with authentic cultural moments, taking time in Ambositra to observe traditional silk weaving and sharing knowledge of medicinal forest plants during nature walks.
