The tour is great to see all kinds of lemurs. Especially at Palmarium—a small resort within a lemur reservation. There the lemurs might visit you at your bungalow. We would book the tour again and recommend it to any lemur lover.

My guides were all excellent and the accommodations were good enough for where we were. The tour never felt overly rushed or slow with ample time to do solo exploration. I wish my first guide, in Antananarivo and Andasibe, spoke better English. There were many instances where I tried to get information on my surroundings or the culture and was met with a nervous laugh of incomprehension. So when I really needed something I would speak very simple English or switch to broken French. I felt the tour was worth what I paid, especially considering that breakfast and dinner were included each day.

What our customers ask about Madagascar Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions in Madagascar?
Madagascar's diverse landscape offers activities that engage visitors of all ages. Families can watch Indri-Indri lemurs swing through the trees at Andasibe-Mantadia National Park or spend time at Nosy Be's beaches where clear waters reveal colorful coral reefs perfect for beginning snorkelers. The Avenue of Baobabs near Morondava has become a must-visit spot where ancient trees create memorable silhouettes at sunset. At Vakona Forest Lodge's Lemur Island children can safely interact with semi-tame lemurs under supervision. A TourRadar traveler noted: "We saw more wildlife than we imagined was possible. The local park guides were really knowledgeable and helpful. It was a bucket list trip for us and we came away amazed."
What kind of accommodations can families expect in Madagascar?
Madagascar's lodging options fit various travel styles and budgets. In Antananarivo Le Louvre Hotel & Spa provides urban comfort while Vakona Forest Lodge offers nature-focused stays in Andasibe. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The hotels were equipped with very advanced amenities. We had a comfortable rest and great breakfast. Everything was well arranged in order."

An 8-14 day visit allows families to see key sites without rushing. Many choose 8-day tours that connect Antananarivo Andasibe National Park and coastal Ifaty with stays at places like Hotel Sur La Plage. This schedule balances wildlife encounters with beach time giving children space to rest between activities. A TourRadar traveler noted "We had a wonderful trip in Madagascar...the country is full of surprises and I wish more people will visit."
What should families pack for a Madagascar trip?
Your suitcase should contain light breathable clothes walking shoes for trails sun protection gear insect repellent and basic medical supplies. Pack light rain gear for unexpected showers in areas like Andasibe National Park. As one TourRadar traveler advised: "Take the tour with the adventurer mindset...but be prepared." Remember cameras for wildlife shots and beach gear for coastal stays at locations such as Hotel Sur La Plage in Ifaty.
What educational experiences are available for children in Madagascar?
The island serves as a living classroom where children learn about unique wildlife conservation and local culture. The Vakona Reserve teaches about lemur protection while Antsirabe shows traditional craft-making. At Kirindy Reserve families discover species found nowhere else on Earth. A TourRadar traveler shared: "We enjoyed the journey and got an upfront taste of the people their daily existence and the wonder of Madagascar."
