Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Vilnius

You'll arrive in Vilnius today. If your flight gets in early enough, take some time to walk through the old town and get a feel for the place. The streets have real character and it's a good way to shake off travel fatigue. If you're arriving later, just head to your hotel and rest up. Either way, you'll want to be ready to explore properly tomorrow.

    Optional Activities

    • Airport transfer to hotel
    • Walk around old town
  2. Day 2

    Vilnius

This morning you'll take a short train ride out to Pavilniai Regional Park. From there, you'll hike through forests along the river valley for about 4 hours covering roughly 10 km. The main highlight is the Pūčkoriai rock formation, which shoots up 65 meters and has geological features dating back 20,000 years. It's a solid day of walking but the scenery makes it worthwhile.

You can do a shorter 2-hour walk covering 7 km around town and the peninsula, or go longer with a 5-hour hike that stretches 15 km and takes you through old forest and meadows out to Varnikai Reserve. The train passes through beautiful Lithuanian countryside. Once you arrive, drop your luggage at the hotel and then take a 7 km coastal walk through thick forest. There's a picnic lunch by Lithuania's smallest and most picturesque beacon. If you're tired later, you can catch a local bus for the final stretch, or keep walking the last 12 km to Nida if you're feeling it.

Tour guide Kaspers excellent. Informative humerous professional. Lady tour guide however, forgot our group so we lost an hour of that tour and another time had to get a taxi to catch up

After a brief orientation regarding the actual tour operator Balticvision and a missed transfer from the airport, the trip went as it should. In addition to nice guides and local tours, we were able to get a first impression of Poland and especially the Baltic States. This tour makes you want more, especially Riga was very convincing.

Unlike the mass tour operators, Travel Addicts offers much more intimate tours with engaging local tour guides who have a real passion for the Baltic states. They are very focused on providing a tailored experience for tour participants. Also, they really care about their clients – I had an unforeseen issue arise that the Travel Addicts team resolved in a way that showed great character and genuine concern. Highly recommend the private tours in particular. Thank you!
