  For the price the tour was extraordinary value. Some of the excursions were tight. We didn't visit Kom Ombo due to the short time in Port of 90 minutes and long queues at the ticket office. We only made Edfu as we insisted on a 5.30am pick-up to be at the ticket office by 6am. The guides were all excellent as were the drivers. I'd suggest adding Alexandria as an overnight as there is so much to see and so little time Ramadam affected the schedule but understood. Hotels were all excellent and great service. We enjoyed the trip but found the schedule gruelling with early starts.Show more

  Even though I was the only applicant on this tour, they provided an unimpeded trip by properly assigning drivers and guides throughout the entire itinerary. I was told that each driver/guide was outsourced, and that there were guides who only gave a few minutes of explanation and then took a break, saying that they would give us free time, and guides who gave us false plans and ignored our calls despite our repeated questions and confirmations about the itinerary for the next day and beyond. However, when I reported this to the management company, I felt that it was handled very sincerely and believe they would take proper actions to improve the tour quality. In any case, it would have been difficult to visit all the various sites and tourist attractions scattered throughout the vast land of Egypt by myself, but thanks to this tour, I was able to maximize my enjoyment even within the limited number of days I had in Egypt. If I ever go to Egypt again, or if any of my friends go there, I will recommend this tour company!Show more

  This was one of the worst vacations I have ever taken. For starters, it took more than an hour for someone to show at the airport upon arrival.None of the guides wore name tags or shirts showing who they were nor carried my name. Several of my guides 'Told' me that I 'must' tip various drivers;although transportation was included. I was appalled at the 'filth' in Egypt;with sick dogs and cats running everywhere; including the pyramids. The cars I was driven it were far from air conditioned and were actually personal vehicles. On one trip, my driver was stopped and had to 'bribe' a police man to let him go because his auto tag showed he was not a registered tour car. At every site I was required to pay an entrance fee and on my tour of the pyramids I was taken in the heat of the afternoon, so was unable to go down inside because it closed. I told my guide that I wanted to go in the morning but he said afternoon was best. The request for tips was unrelenting;even with my guides. When I asked to see some other sites in Cairo I was told it would be extra, plus admission. My hotel failed to give me awake up call twice;which made me late for tours. One of my drivers could not be reached by phone when my return flight changed and I needed to get hold of him. One of my tour guides was on her cell phone constantly while discussing the tour and took a swipe at at local cat that was rubbing her leg. Of course the animals are friendly because they food from the tourists and are starving. I did not mention the children that would bang on the car door begging for money and I saw digging in the trash bins for food or recyclables. I know my country gives Egypt money, and wish they would use it to feed the children, disabled and spay/neuter the dogs and cats. The only part of the trip that was satisfactory was the Nile cruise; which I paid extra for a single room.Show more

  The tour with Ancient Egypt was fantastic. There was great communication from the company in particular Salwa. She answered my questions about the itinerary and made a last minute change for me. The trip was organized and had ample time for me to pursue optional tours in Cairo,Aswan, and Luxor. Tarek was the company contact for the portion of the tour in Upper Egypt. I am very thankful to him for providing me detailed information on the costs of each location visited there. That made sure I have enough money and the right credit card to use. Seemed that as the trip went on one place was more spectacular than the last. I cannot describe how incredible the sights were on the entire tour. The Nile cruise was an experience I will never forget. The food was good and scenery even better. I enjoy history and there is plenty of it in Egypt. This leads me to offer my sincere thanks to all of the guides during the tour. One of the important qualities of each guide was knowing people at each site. Whether it was the security or shopkeepers, even the horse carriage drivers, all the guides were welcomed heartily. This was reassuring throughout the journey. I was picked up on time for all locations. Reneh in Cairo was perfect for the Giza Pyramids and the Egypt Museum. The Cairo tour was the only time I was with anyone else. The rest of the tour I had a private tour guide. Imagine that!! Walid was the guide at Aswan and he clearly knew his stuff. He lives locally there and not only is he knowledgeable but immensely proud of the people, history, and heritage. I had opportunities to purchase local items but Walid made it clear that there was no pressure to buy. Though I buy some fragrances/essential oils. The early visit to Edfu went off without a hitch. Ahmed showed up right on time at 0500. We took a fun carriage ride thru the town to the temple. It was crowded first thing in the morning but the visit sure was worth it. Ahmed (different than the Ahmed at Edfu) was my guide for Luxor. He is an Egyptologist and dressed the part! I don’t know anyone can remember all the details of the many Pharaohs and gods. He helped me decide which tombs to visit in the Valley of the Kings. I enjoyed the fact that all the guides explained things and then let me explore on my own. There aren’t many signs so guides are really necessary I think. I had no problems with safety. A couple times all the guides were helpful in periodically dealing with some of the more “persistent” sellers.Show more

  I was expecting a group tour, but to my surprise it was a private tour with my wife and I. Our guides Walid and Mahmoud were AMAZING! They had so much experience and knowledge that it amazed me. We managed to see so much of the country, and took advantage of all of the optional tours. We normally do not book tours for the entire trip, but, we would have felt lost without them. Egypt is an amazing country, but if you are from a western country, it is so much better with a guide or tour.Show more
