We understand that including visits to churches and monasteries in our itineraries may give the impression of a pilgrimage tour. However, this is not the case. We have carefully selected only those sites that are either UNESCO World Heritage sites or located in some of the most stunning natural settings of the region. Each church or monastery we visit is chosen for its remarkable surroundings — perched on mountaintops, nestled by the sea, hidden within serene forests, or built dramatically on the edge of cliffs overlooking vast canyons or red rock formations. These visits allow our travelers to appreciate both the cultural and historical heritage of the South Caucasus, as well as its diverse and breathtaking landscapes. Please note that entering any religious site is entirely optional. Many of our guests prefer to enjoy the surrounding nature and panoramic views without going inside the religious buildings. It's also worth noting that most of these visits take place in Armenia, where churches and monasteries form an integral part of the cultural landscape. In Georgia, such visits are limited, and in Azerbaijan, we do not include churches at all.

Can you let me know if it is still good to go around the Caucasus at this time. From what I read December to Feb is when it starts to get particularly snowy. Will you have many people on the tour at that time. We are both fine with cold weather and will come prepared.

Usually in South Caucasus November is considered to be a low travel season and there are not many travelers. We do not expect many people on this particular departure, so you probably will be able to enjoy a semi-private tour. The weather in November is usually +10-15 degrees Celsius during daytime. We do not expect much snow in November, however, when you go up to the north to the city of Kazbegi, it may snow there. If you have proper footwear and clothes, it's a fun journey to take!

I found the tour well balanced, neither too hectic nor too laid back. Some of the drives were fairly long but regularly broken up with activities. Border crossings, as always in this part of the world, were tedious or quick based on the luck of the draw and whether one of your fellow travelers has visa/passport issues. I feel that I got a good taste of the cultures of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. Speaking of taste, being a willing to try anything "foodie," there was a good mix of meals provided and on your own with some local cuisine in provided meals. I do not recommend going out and trying the Armenian Khash [boiled cow’s feet served with dry Lavash and radishes]. Only large quantities of vodka got me through it.Show more

The countries of the Caucasus are steeped in history at the crossroads of Asia and Europe. We felt entirely safe throughout even in the backstreets of Tbilisi at night. Friendly locals and fascinating local languages. Bus transport spacious and comfortable. Attention to detail by the folk at Advantour with whom we we were in communication for a year or so prior to the tour. Nothing was too much trouble for them.Show more

  While Armenia and Georgia no longer require COVID vaccine certificates, Azerbaijan still requires one of the following: a COVID passport, an official certificate of recovery from COVID-19, or a certificate of contraindication to COVID-19 vaccination. These documents must have electronic verification and be issued by the state, valid on the departure date.

Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 4th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 4th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Advantour Caucasus. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Advantour Caucasus will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Advantour Caucasus" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
