Georgian wine in qvevri tastes like nothing else, Tbilisi's sulfur baths are wonderfully weird, and that aerial tramway to Tatev in Armenia is the world's longest. Vardzia's cave city is carved right into the cliffs, Baku's old city mixes ancient and modern brilliantly, and Mount Ararat's view from Armenia is stunning. Most people haven't heard of half these places, which makes discovering them even better.

We enjoyed this trip! All accommodations were excellent, although we did not like the locations of the 2 Resorts locations away from towns. We had a guide and driver in Armenia, and Azerbaijan,, but only a driver/guide in Georgia. This did not work well because you couldn't really hear him when he talked, and he wasn't very forthcoming with information. We needed a driver and a guide in Georgia as well. If you are doing this trip be aware that you have to walk across the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan, up hill with steps for 1/2 mile WITH YOUR BAGS! I would suggest starting in Armenia and ending in Baku, it would save a drive. For us, we had to drive from Armenia back to Georgia and that was 6 hours because we flew into Georgia. Lots of churches, monasteries on this tour, could have used more cultural info. Also would have enjoyed a cruise on the Caspian Sea, but no time. Lots of UNESCO sites on this one. I would recommend a visit to these countries!
