  This is an amazing tour, highlighting some of Peru’s amazing history, landscape, and people. I was initially looking at doing just the Inca Trail, but I’m so glad that I got to see more of the country. It really was a fantastic sampler: I loved the city tour in Lima, Machu Picchu was breathtaking. Had some fantastic guides! And when I was feeling sick and tired, my contact at Waman adventures offered me a city tour rather than the hike. I was supposed to do the following day. That flexibility is really characteristic of this company and well worth your notice. I will warn you. There’s lots of warnings. You’re up at three or 4 AM and do go go go. If that’s not your thing, maybe look at another tour. But, this tour really does hit all the high points from Lima to Cusco to Machu Picchu and rainbow Mountain to Puno & Lake Titicaca. I loved it and highly recommend it.Show more

They respond quickly and effectively to any questions and make you feel secure in all arrangements made. The tour itself provided a busy yet informative insight of Peru’s key sights, allowing us to get a real perspective of what is a magical and beautiful country. The itinerary is demanding with many early starts however Waman does accommodate flexibility in your itinerary should you need it. I cannot recommend Waman enough.Show more

Knowledgeable and helpful Hotels were within the tourist safe area Lunch and Breakfast on road was excellent Coaches were comfy and driver very good safe driver I cannot rate any guide coz they were all excellent Over all all the tour was very pleasant But one thing I can suggest That I find this tour very hectic for our age We are in our 70. It would be better if after 4 or 5 days. They start the tour around 10 so we can catch up on our sleep and rest little bit Plus 15 to 20 mintues for buying souvenirs On first day in LimaShow more

  We had a (mostly) wonderful experience in touring Peru on a 12 day adventure via Waman Tours. Major stops included: Lima - Cusco- Machupicchu - Ollantaytambo - Pisac and Puno, as well as lesser known sites in between. First the accommodations: We were perplexed by Waman's changes to hotels originally quoted/stated in the itinerary (this causes concern when they don't notify us of the changes before heading to that destination). However, the substitute hotels Waman selected were excellent. The rooms were clean, comfortable and reasonably well appointed. With the exception of the hotel in Puno, the staff at all hotels were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel staff at Inka II in Cuzco were especially notable. While in Cuzco, a member of our party fell ill. The staff was marvelous in assisting us get the supplies and assistance to bring her back to health. Their help was vital to getting her back on her feet without missing much of our touring. The hotel staff in Puno, however, was disappointing. The front desk staff seemed inattentive. There was no breakfast restaurant operating hours, so we had to fill out breakfast requests the night before. When arriving at the appointed time, both days, we found no staff in the restaurant. After finding staff, they did their best to take care of us, but they apparently, weren't given our requests (from the night before) as a number of those items weren't available or prepared. Tours: The tours conducted by Waman personnel were outstanding! Of particular was the sightseeing in Cuszco, Machu Pichu, Ollataytambo, Sachsayhuaman and locales in between. Wilbert Santa Cruz was incredible! He handed our transportation, meals, tours, and personal needs (he even acquired a cable (for a necessary medical device) we had lost!) so expertly we remained unaware of any challenges. His intimate knowledge of all the sites we visited with him provided insights and such details that would never be available on a "standard" tour. My wife and I (as well as the other members of our party) frequently travel the world and have booked independent and company tour guides in many locations.Wilbert, and his driver Yimmi (with us for three of the 5 days with Wilbert), were among the best we have ever been associated with. I heartily encourage anyone using the services of Waman to specifically request Wilbert and Yimmi to serve as their tour guides. What we didn't know (nor were we so informed prior to contracting with Waman) was that Waman would be subcontracting our tours in Lima, from Cuzco to Puno, and in Puno. The first tour guide in Lima was adequate, but seemingly inexperienced. Due to the President's (of Peru) surprise resignation, the planned tour (that included much of the downtown Lima government area) was unavailable. Though the tour guide tried her best to improvise, her inexperience caused a lot of confusion, including keeping us "on tour" for long periods of time without food or beverage (we had no stops for meals between breakfast at the hotel and the tour's end at 2030). The second day's tour (which we especially looked forward to) had to be "changed" due to weather (fog kept the boat in port). Unfortunately, that tour guide (company?) had no "plan B". After waiting for hours, we finally requested to return to our hotel, where we "created" our own "tour". It was late afternoon when Waman contacted us with a possible late afternoon and evening (dinner theater) plan. By then, we chose to continue on our own. Our experience with the "tour guide" on the bus from Cuzco to Puno was terrible. When finding out we were from the US, his first action was to show a meme (I guess he thought it was funny) that was insulting to President Trump. That set the tone for the day. Then, we discovered his command of English was actually worse than my command of Spanish. After the first stop or two (tour sites), it became apparent his knowledge base was pretty limited to reading the descriptive signs (in both English and Spanish). To make matters worse, he rushed through the sites, missing much we preferred to see. From that point on, we chose to visit/tour the remaining sites (on this bus trip) on our own, though he kept yelling for us to stay with him. Finally, when the bus was arriving in Puno, he walked through the bus handing out review sheets to be completed (required for him to distribute, by his company). He literally said we must give him a good review and then we must give him a tip! I understand this was not a Waman employee, but they subcontracted to this company! We hold Waman responsible. The company they subcontracted in Puno was equally poor. The "guide" picking us up from the bus to go to the hotel, immediately explained he was "poor" in English. Glad I could "muddle through" Spanish. The, van dropped us and our luggage off blocks from the hotel (streets in Puno are mostly one way, but he could have gotten closer. Worse, was the walk was up a steep hill. At age 74, with heavy luggage, that was beyond unreasonable. The next morning we were picked up (again blocks away from the hotel), by van. After many stops, the van was filled beyond capacity (guests were standing in the aisle), we were taken to the marina for the scheduled Lake Titicaca tour. Fortunately, that tour (a different company) was excellent. The stop in the Uros floating Islands was very interesting as was the tour of Taquile (island). Lunch on Taquile was also very good. Upon arriving back at the marina, the same van picked up the same number of guests (more than the van capacity) and took us back to the hotel (though we were dropped off blocks from the hotel, at least this time the walk was downhill). The air travel on Sky Airlines was fine. I would recommend Waman schedule the flight from Juliaca to Lima based on the client's departure (for the home country). We had over 8 hours, before we could even check in for the flight home. Waman personnel: In addition to Wilbert and Yimmi, I would like to praise Luz Lucero. Her assistance in arranging this trip was incredibly helpful. Luz went over and above in answering questions and making adjustments to accommodate our personal needs. She was wonderful to work with. And even more than I suspect her job requires, affter I accidentally left my phone in the Lima airport, Luz spent a great deal of time locating it and making arrangements for me to pick it up when we arrived back at the Lima airport. I greatly appreciate her efforts and can strongly recommend anyone looking to book with Waman, request to work with Luz!Show more

  We had such an amazing experience with Waman Adventures on our multi-day trip through Peru. The hikes were beautiful, and I loved seeing how Inca history is present all across the country—it made the whole trip feel really connected and meaningful. We also got to do a great mix of activities throughout the trip, and everything felt very well organized. The food was really good, and all of the guides we had were kind, helpful, and great at what they do. Freddy and our driver (I think his name was Bertran/Bertram—sorry if I’m spelling that wrong) were a big part of what made it special. You can really feel how much Freddy cares—about nature, Pachamama, and his culture—and I really appreciated how he explained each place and shared more about the Quechua people and their traditions. It made everything feel more meaningful instead of just passing through. At the same time, our driver made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time, especially on longer drives.
