Are your prices in US$$ or Canadian $$

I see you rate your hikes A, A+, B, B++, etc. Can you explain this rating a bit more please. I don't plan to book until later this year or early next. If I book and there isn't a min. of 5 people, do I get my deposit back? I actually see the prices have been converted into C$ which is helpful to me.

    • Epos Travel & ToursOperatorWritten September 2022

The rating is the following: The + symbol is added to the degree of difficulty (eg 2+, 3+ etc.) when there are climbing passages, exposed edges, gullies, or snow/ice slopes of 40° and above. Participating in such routes requires very good physical condition and familiarity with the mountainous terrain. Knowledge of basic belaying by technical means is also required for winter climbs. Category A: Easy hiking climbs lasting up to 6 hours, in which even beginners can participate. Category B: 6 to 8 hour hikes in low mountains, with or without snow. Beginners with good physical condition and similar equipment can also participate. Category C: Mountaineering winter ascents lasting more than 8 hours, with the use of ice axes - crampons required, or multi-day summer crossings with long daily marches. Category D: Difficult long winter ascents. Climbing knowledge and full winter mountain gear required. You do not need to book now, you can do this later this year when we have more inquiries. It is usually easier to guarantee the departure when we have a group of people planning to do this trip together.
