14 Day Greece Itinerary, incl. Athens and Santorini
A 14-day tour winds through 18 cities across Greece's Cyclades. The route leads from Athens' Acropolis to Syros' Ermoupolis, continues along Paros' Byzantine trail, showcases Naxos' marble heritage, and culminates at Santorini's caldera. Daily activities include walks, cooking classes, and wine tastings.

- Days 1-2
Athens
Get to the Acropolis early before 8:30 AM when crowds are minimal. "Watching the morning light hit the Parthenon was magical, but bring water and a hat - it gets hot up there quickly." Your second day is perfect for exploring the Plaka district and Acropolis Museum. Book museum tickets online to skip the lines.

- Days 3-4
Syros
Take the morning ferry from Piraeus to Syros (4 hours). Stay in Galissas which offers great swimming in its shallow waters. The coastal walk from Kini to Galissas takes about 2 hours and offers beautiful views. "The coastal path offered stunning views, but wear proper shoes - it's quite rocky in parts." Make time for medieval Ano Syros and try the local loukoumi.

- Days 5-6
Paros
Catch the evening ferry to Paros (1.5 hours). The Drios area makes a good base. Walk the Byzantine road from Lefkes to Prodromos. It's an easy 2-hour walk past herbs and small villages. Join the popular cooking class at Hotel Anezina. "The cooking class was a highlight - we made authentic moussaka and learned family recipes."

- Days 7-8
Naxos
The ferry to Naxos takes just an hour. The Tragea Valley is worth exploring with its olive groves and quiet villages. Try the 7km walk from Kinidaros to Eggares and visit the Olive Press Museum. "The inland routes show a different side of the islands - bring good walking shoes as paths can be uneven."

- Days 9-10
Optional Delos & Mykonos
- Days 11-14
Santorini
14 Days in Greece, incl. Athens and Greek Islands
A grand 14-day tour encompasses 7 Greek destinations, from Athens to Meteora, Olympia, and the islands. Guests enjoy 13 nights' lodging, spending three nights each in Santorini and Mykonos. The itinerary features UNESCO sites, traditional cooking demonstrations, and island activities.

- Days 1-2
Athens
Begin your Greek adventure in Athens. Get to the Acropolis around 8 AM to avoid crowds and heat. You'll want sturdy shoes with good grip since the marble steps can be tricky. The Plaka neighborhood is best in late afternoon when it's cooler and the cafes start to fill up. A recent visitor shared: "The views from the Acropolis at sunset are incredible, but bring a hat and water—there's zero shade up there."

- Days 3-4
Meteora & Kalambaka
Take the morning train (5 hours) to Kalambaka to see the Meteora monasteries. Visit early since most close by 3 PM. Pack good walking shoes for the steep paths between monasteries. Start with Great Meteoron Monastery before it gets busy. Remember to dress modestly—shoulders and knees need to be covered.

- Days 4-5
Delphi & Olympia
- Day 6
Mycenae & Nafplio
- Days 7-9
Santorini
Catch a morning ferry from Athens' Piraeus port. Pick the fast ferry to save time. Book your Oia or Fira hotel well ahead—6 months minimum in peak season. A visitor tip: "The walk from Fira to Oia along the caldera is stunning but take plenty of water and start before 9 AM to avoid the brutal midday heat."

- Days 10-12
Mykonos
- Days 13-14
Athens

What people love about 2-week Greece tours
- Greek Island Wanderer
Womderful two weeks with a small group that included daily walks on some of the most interesting Cycladean islands, with exploring countryside and towns. Peter was a knowledgeable and supportive leader. Escorted travel on ferries between four islands, mostly reasonable hotels, with a couple of lovely places to stay. Recommend for an active holiday...bring good footwear!
- Gems of Greece: Athens, Naxos & Crete (2026)
My wife and I truly enjoyed this trip. It was well planned, with a good balance of tours and free time. The hotels were all very good and all transfers went smoothly. Our tour guide Savvass was the best guide we’ve ever had, incredibly knowledgeable, warm, funny, and had great recommendations for everything. It was a small group, just 14 total. Which was perfect.
- Peloponnese Explorer
Great leader, good, clean hotels, good schedule of site visits and nice travel group.
