I use a CPAP at night - do your adventures have access to electricity in the sleeping quarters?

As this tour is mostly camping we unfortunately cannot accommodate CPAP Machine due to the facilities offered.

how demanding is the hike? I am a slow walker and hiker, more about site seeing. I join G adventure before and its all really young people the trip from Vegas to san Francisco. They walk rally fast on the hike and it was hard to keep up and no one really stopped to enjoy the scenery, all about getting to the final destination.

We rate this tour a level 4/5 in terms of physical rating. The biggest day of hiking on this itinerary is approximately 4 hours, for 10km. There is an elevation change of about 61m (200 ft). So as long as you feel competent to manage distances such as this, with these time restrains you will be absolutely okay for the activity level.

Can I request specific dietary accommodations?

You can request specific dietary needs, and efforts will be made to accommodate them within the limits of what’s available.

How can I prepare for emergency situations during the tour?

Ensure you have Emergency Medical Travel Insurance covering medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and repatriation up to the amount specified.

Can we book our own accomodation? If yes, how much is your tour? would like to ask weather for tour from 27 May 2026 and tour on 5 May 2026 as we prefer non camping

Accommodation is included in the tour package, this cannot be altered. If you'd prefer not to camp we have another tour which may be more suitable.

Would this tour make for a great experience as a solo traveller? I would love to see the American Southwest and this looks to be a rewarding experience.

Yes, this would make a great tour for a solo traveller, we usually have a good amount of solo travellers on our tours. You will be with the group the majority of the time so it makes it easy to have good experiences with the group and make friends.

What does camping mean

An essential part of your trip is participation - from putting up your tent (while camping) or packing it away in the morning, to helping with meal preparation and cleaning up - it is all part of your adventure and when everyone puts in a little effort the trip will run smoothly. Your CEO will do all the meal preparation, but we do ask the clients to help with the preparation and washing up. Team spirit is part of the fun! All camping equipment (with the exception of your sleeping bag and pillow) is supplied. We supply dome tents and assembly/disassembly takes only 5 minutes. All tents have built-in insect nets. Comfortable, self-inflating mattresses are also provided, which are approximately 4cm thick.

How many hours are spent hiking each day on this tour?

The full itinerary attached shows the breakdown of each day with estimated distances and durations.

What kind of rooming arrangements are available on most tours?

Most of our tours are based on twin share rooming. If you are traveling alone, you might share with another solo traveler of the same gender. Additional costs apply for single supplements unless otherwise noted.

What should I expect in terms of amenities while camping during the tour?

All camping equipment except for your sleeping bag and pillow is provided. We supply dome tents and comfortable, self-inflating mattresses. Campgrounds usually feature drinking water, toilets, and sometimes fire pits, picnic tables, and laundry facilities.

This is listed as a "Demanding" tour, but is designed for seniors and obese people. The guide was more focused on making us sit and have lunch than he was with hitting trails and parks, and we were often encouraged to hang out at the RV park pool. Also, "camping" means setting up a tent in a parking lot full of RV's, this does not include actual camping and the tents you are given are complete junk. You will spend much more time being driven in a van, or having sit-down meals 3 times a day, than you will actually exploring or hiking. Extremely disappointing for something marketed as DEMANDING. Oh and our guide went through an insane amount of food waste while not recycling, since G claims to have sustainability values which it clearly does not actually adhere to.Show more
