  That is correct, effective 1 January this year the United States introduced a new park fee that needs to be paid by non residents. Travellers will either:
  
  Pay a $100 USD per person surcharge at applicable national parks, or
  Purchase a non-resident annual pass for $250 USD per person, which covers these fees across multiple parks.
