    Asked on January 11th, 2022

How many days prior to the start of the trip do you recommend arriving in Cusco to acclimate? How many other people are planning the trek leaving on 1/25?

    Group size
    Travel Support
    • Unu Raymi ExpeditionsOperatorWritten January 2022

A lot depends on your experience at altitude, this trek gets up to 5,200m which is a reasonably serious height for most. Cusco is at 3,400masl, Sacred Valley 2,400masl. I would recommend arriving at least 2 fulls days prior, and include a day trekking in the Sacred Valley to warmup, if you can afford the time. The group we have for the 25th are from Russia (x2), they seem very nice and relaxed.
