Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Imlil
You'll be picked up in Marrakech and driven to Imlil, where your trek into the Azzadene Valley begins. The hike takes about 6 hours total, and you'll pass through some really nice terrain including the Tizi n'Mzik mountain pass. Along the way, you'll stop at Azib n'Tansoult shelter and check out Ighouliden Waterfalls before reaching Lipeney Mountain Refuge for the night. Bring plenty of water and wear good hiking boots for this one.

- Day 2
Azzadene Valley to Toubkal Refuge
Early morning departure from Lipeney as you climb out of the valley toward Toubkal Refuge. You'll cross the Aguelzim mountain pass, and by lunchtime you're looking out over the Atlas Mountains from a high vantage point. The shelter at Toubkal (also called Niltner Hut) has bunk rooms where you'll share space with other trekkers who are also preparing for tomorrow's summit attempt. This is a good day to rest up and acclimate to the altitude.

- Day 3
Mount Toubkal Summit to Imlil
This is a big day. You'll start very early and head up Mount Toubkal to the 4,167m summit, where you can see across the Atlas Mountains and out toward the Sahara Desert if the weather cooperates. The climb is about 8 to 9 hours total when you factor in the ascent and then the return trip back down to Toubkal Shelter and eventually back to Imlil. You'll gain roughly 900m but lose nearly 2,500m on the descent, so your legs will feel this one.

Imlil to Dades Gorge
A car picks you up at 9:00am in Imlil, and then you're driving over the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The route takes you past Berber villages, riverside oases, and fortified kasbahs dotting the hillsides. If you're interested, there are optional stops like Ouarzazate Film Studios or a short walk in the area. By evening you'll reach Dades Gorge, where you can either go for a hike to explore or just relax at your hotel.

Dades Valley to Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll drive to Todra Gorge to walk through the narrow valley with its palmeries and Berber villages. There's an option to hike up to the palm oasis if you want. Following lunch, you continue to Merzouga to pick up desert supplies and your camel. Later in the afternoon, you'll trek by camel for about an hour and a half as the sun sets, heading out to a Berber desert camp where you'll have traditional Moroccan dinner and sleep under the stars or in tents.

- Day 6
Merzouga Desert to Ait Benhaddou
You wake up to see the desert sunrise, then ride your camel back to the kasbah for breakfast and a chance to clean up. After that, you'll drive to Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified town filled with kasbahs that's been used as a film location for movies like The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander, and Lawrence of Arabia. Your guide will walk you through the buildings so you can explore the architecture and history. You'll stay overnight at a hotel near the town.

Ait Benhaddou to Marrakech
You'll travel through the Ounilla Valley to reach Telouet Kasbah, a historic fortress that once served as a major stop for merchants traveling trade routes. Your guide will show you around the crumbling structure and explain its significance. After lunch, you head back over Tizi-n-Tichka pass, returning to Marrakech by evening where your journey ends.
