    Asked on April 13th, 2026

Do we separately book the hotels for the trip? The tour ends on day three in Richmond. How do we get back to Hobart? On day 2 there is the 45 minute walk up to the Weissman lookout. How challenging is that?

    • Tours TasmaniaOperatorWritten April 2026

Day 3 tour day starts in Hobart and ends in Hobart. Yes the tour price is for each of the tour days but not for accommodation. You need to be in Launceston on Day 1 night, Hobart on Day 2 night, and usually people stay on in Hobart on Day 3 night. You can fly out - but will need to return to Hobart first, collect your luggage and then depart to the airport by your own arrangement. Any flight booked should be after 8.00 PM. The Wineglass Bay Lookout walk is categorised as moderately difficult - it is all uphill and usually takes someone with reasonable fitness about 45 minutes. You can decide on the day - if you start the walk, there is a turnback point. You can sit it out all together - the tour guide will offer an option to sit it out at the nearby Freycinet Lodge - it has a lovely deck views, coffee, cake, food, a nice place to relax. Great hotel options for Launceston are: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Mercure Hotel Launceston. Hobart: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Ibis Styles, Travelodge, Best Western.
