The majority of our group members are in their 20s and 30s, so unfortunately our tours may not be the best fit for you. We do hope you find a trip that suits you perfectly and that you have an amazing time in Japan. It's such an incredible country!

We are a couple in our 60s and we can not share room with other people. We would like to have private room please.

The majority of our group members are in their 20s and 30s, and we have an upper age limit of 49 so unfortunately our tours will not be the best fit.

Just checking if age groups are flexible? I'm a young 58 year old, so looking at the 18-49 age group. Would this be a problem, and is the accommodation twin share (I am a solo traveller).

Can I share a room with another solo traveller?

I am arriving 2 days earlier before the tour starts. I'm wondering if I can get information on where we are staying so I am close by.

On the Japan 13 day tour do the buses have toilets on them and are the hostels private rooms and bathrooms or do you share rooms and bathrooms.

We mainly travel by train throughout Japan. The longest journey without toilet access would usually be around 1.5 to 2 hours. On the larger trains there are toilets available on board. Accommodation is in shared hostel style rooms with shared bathroom facilities. If you would prefer your own private room, that can sometimes be arranged. We would just need to check availability for your dates.

We love the itinerary and it looks fantastic overall. We were wondering if it would be possible to stay in hotels instead of hostels, with each couple having their own private room. Additionally, do you offer this itinerary as a private tour for a group of six people?

Our Japan Adventure 13 day includes the absolute best of Japan, plus some off the beaten path experiences, amazing accommodation, an instant group of friends and an awesome group leader to take care of everything. Hang out with red faced snow monkeys, wield a samurai sword, stay overnight in a 1000 year old buddhist temple with local monks are just some of the many highlights! It wouldn't be possible to run a private group for 6 people, but we certainly look into the possibility of 3 private rooms for you on one of our Group departures. The only time of year where private rooms can never be organised is during Cherry Blossom season (March/April) due to availability during peak season. The private rooms would be booked at the same accommodation as the rest of the group are staying. It wouldn't be possible to have you staying at different hotels due to the effect that would have on logistics and the group dynamic, sorry about that! There is one location where it isn't possible to have a private room, Hakone, but we can book you into private rooms at all other accommodations (subject to availability). That said, we strongly recommend not having a private room for the 2 nights in Nagano and the 1 night in Koyasan as the traditional Ryokan and Buddhist temple shared is very much part of the experience!

Can this be guided in Spanish?

All of our tours are led in English by English speaking guides. Would you be comfortable with this?

What would happen if I can't get my visa?

You will need to organise your visa yourself and in advance. Depending on your nationality you may have different requirements for the application. We aren't experts in visa, so if you have any concerns about your eligibility for a visa, we'd recommend you organise this and then you can book onto our tour with confidence.

Can an age range exception be made? I am in my 70s and physically fit for the tour.

We set an age range to make sure the style, pace, and overall vibe of our group tours stays consistent for everyone. Our trips are designed specifically for travellers aged 18–40s, which is why we have a maximum age limit of 49. This isn't based on attitude, fitness or ability. It's simply about maintaining the trip style and group dynamic that our travellers come expecting.

I had the most amazing time with the most amazing people, a particular shout out to our incredible leader Kiki for her enthusiasm, local knowledge and her adoration for the country, being shown around Japan by someone who loves the place and what they do is such a delight. What I loved most was the versatility of the trip. We experienced everything from the buzz of city life and the bright lights and arcades of Electric City, to peaceful temples, beautiful scenery and relaxing onsens. We tried samurai fighting, made sushi, travelled on so many different modes of transport and got to experience so many different sides of Japan. It felt like every day brought something completely different, and the itinerary was so well thought out. I’ve previously travelled with other group tour companies and have even worked for a tour company myself, so I know how much work goes into making a trip like this run smoothly. Intro Travel were fantastic. Everything felt organised, fun and effortless from our side. A huge part of that was down to our tour leader, Charlie. He was absolutely fantastic and genuinely made the trip what it was. He had the perfect balance of everything you want in a tour leader: knowledgeable, friendly, funny, hardworking, organised and completely involved with the group. He brought such great fun energy every single day and made everything feel easy and enjoyable. I’ve done a lot of group travel over the years and I can honestly say I’ve never met a tour leader quite like Charlie. He went above and beyond throughout the entire trip and made everyone feel welcome, included and looked after. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The most incredible 13 days in Japan! 🇯🇵 I honestly couldn’t recommend the Intro Travel 13-day Japan tour enough. What an incredible experience from start to finish! 13 days somehow flew by, and I came away with so many amazing memories, new experiences and friendships that I’ll never forget. The itinerary was the perfect mix of culture, adventure, sightseeing, food, nightlife and downtime. Every day felt completely different, and we got to experience so many sides of Japan. One of my favourite experiences was wearing traditional kimonos in Nagano. It was such a unique experience and something I probably wouldn’t have done if I had been travelling independently. Exploring the temples around Tokyo was another highlight — being able to take in the history, culture and incredible architecture was amazing. Then there was Osaka, which was an absolute highlight. Exploring Dotonbori, taking in all the lights and atmosphere, trying the incredible food and enjoying the nightlife with the group was something I’ll never forget! But honestly, one of the biggest reasons the trip was so special was the people. Travelling solo, I was initially nervous about joining a group tour, but those nerves disappeared almost immediately. I met such an amazing group of people from all over the world and by the end of the 13 days it genuinely felt like we were one big family. And of course, Charlie deserves a special mention! Charlie was honestly the BEST group leader we could have asked for. So friendly, funny, knowledgeable and genuinely caring, Charlie went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having the best possible time. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and Charlie created such an amazing atmosphere within the group. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to show us around Japan! If you’re considering travelling to Japan solo, DO IT! Intro Travel made everything so easy while still giving us the freedom to properly experience Japan. Your Group Leader can also help you arrange a transfer back to the airport on the final day. Day one is arrival day, no activities are planned until welcome dinner in the evening.   If your plans were to change and you were no longer able to travel with us then the policy is as follows:
  Up to 30 days before departure: Forfeit deposit
  Within 30 days of departure: 100% forfeit of the tour cost.
  
  We do have flexible options to help change your dates and tour if needed though!

  Our group consists of three couples: one couple is in their mid-60s, and the other two couples are in their early 60s.

  We do want to be upfront that our tours are designed and capped for travellers aged 18–49. This age range isn't about ability, attitude, or enthusiasm, it's simply how we've shaped the style and dynamic of our groups, so that everyone has the experience they've come to expect. Majority of our group members are usually in their 20s and 30s.

  All transport while on the trip is included, along with your accommodation, activities, and some meals. You will need to arrange your own transport to the start of the trip and back from the end of the trip. Your Group Leader will also be on hand to help you sort out all your onward travel while you're there, making sure you feel comfortable and confident about where you're going next

What would happen if I can't get my visa?

  You will need to organise your visa yourself and in advance. Depending on your nationality you may have different requirements for the application. We aren't experts in visa, so if you have any concerns about your eligibility for a visa, we'd recommend you organise this and then you can book onto our tour with confidence.

Can an age range exception be made? I am in my 70s and physically fit for the tour.

Our trips are designed specifically for travellers aged 18–40s, which is why we have a maximum age limit of 49. This isn't based on attitude, fitness or ability. It's simply about maintaining the trip style and group dynamic that our travellers come expecting.

- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before October 21st, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 21st, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with INTRO Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and INTRO Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "INTRO Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of INTRO Travel. Please familiarize yourself with the INTRO Travel payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
Insurance
Our travel protection from our award-winning partner, XCover, means you and your travel companions can book with peace of mind knowing there’s protection available in case your trip doesn’t go to plan. At checkout you will be able to select between different options in case you or the tour are eligible for insurance.
