    Asked on March 10th, 2026

I would like to know if you could assist us in arranging a customized tour in Japan for two travelers, starting in september 15. The itinerary can be similar to Japan Classic 14 Day, but for these clients it is important to include the following destinations: Tokyo, Nikko, Mt. Fuji, Kanazawa, Koyasan, Kyoto, and finishing again in Tokyo. The idea is for them to have some free days in Tokyo and Kyoto to explore at their own pace. We would also like to include day tours where appropriate, and they should travel between cities mainly by train. For accommodation, 3-star hotels would be perfectly suitable. Although the overall trip would be a private/customized itinerary, it would be completely fine if the day trips (such as Nikko or Mt. Fuji) are operated as shared/group tours.

    Asked on March 6th, 2026

Is it okay if I miss the Day 1 Welcome Dinner and Senso-ji visit? What is the procedure for a late check-in? Where should I meet the group on the morning of Day 2 so I don't miss the orientation briefing? Additionally, since the tour ends in Hiroshima on Day 14, do you recommend I book my flight home directly from Hiroshima or should I plan to travel back to Tokyo?

We don't offer Single room upgrades in Japan, one reason is the cost of standard hotel rooms in Japan not being budget friendly and would make the tour cost significantly more. Also many of our guests have found the variety of room styles to be a unique and enjoyable part of the experience! Twin/double rooms: You'll be paired with 1 of your travel party (the other would share with someone of the same gender). Multi-share rooms: These will be shared with fellow travelers with a variety of room sizes that can fit 2, 5, or 9 people. One of the stays includes a stay at a traditional Japanese Temple (a truly unique experience) as well as a stay at an authentic Japanese Guesthouse! Pod-style dormitory: You'll enjoy a private pod-style bed in room of 12. We regularly get great reviews about the variety of accommodation types that we offer on this tour. Regarding discounts we don't have any sales or offers running at the moment, however, if you place a deposit today you will lock in the current price and not be subject to any potential price increases next year.

I wanted to ask about the 14 day Classic Japan tour. I note the age range is 18-39. I am 62, and my wife is turning 60: I want the trip to Japan to be a surprise birthday present for her. Does the age range mean we are not permitted on this tour? If that is the case, do you have other Japan tours in April that we may be able to join?

We're thrilled that you are interested in joining us on an unforgettable One Life Adventure. However, I do come bearing bad news. As much as we would love to have you on board this tour, we have to follow our guidelines as per our tour requirements, meaning we are unable to accommodate guests who are over the age of 59.

Are temperatures still pleasant in November 2026? Does your route go to Takayama? Is it planned that we visit the village of Shirakawa-go where the typical thatched roof houses are located?

    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

November in Japan brings cool, crisp, and predominantly dry weather, making it an ideal time for travel with average daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C (59–68°F) in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. We don't go to Shirakawa however whilst in Takayama we will visit the old town, a temple and do Sake tasting so you will likely see the old school housing.

    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

Regarding the airport pickup and drop off, we do not offer this service on our Japan Tour. We will supply a detailed explanation on how to get from either Tokyo airport to your Day 1 accommodation. Your guide can also assist you with arranging transport.

Please note that this tour will finish in Hiroshima, so if you are going to book a return flight from Tokyo you will need to get a bullet train from Hiroshima back to Tokyo, where you will then need to take further transport to get to the airport - We can book the ticket for you and your guide can assist you and advise you on the ground.
