About me:“We’re all stories in the end, so make it a good one.” That quote has followed me around the world, and now it follows me onto every tour I lead. I started guiding a welcome week in Sydney, watching people meet their first kangaroo, see the Opera House and discover that standing on a surfboard is considerably harder than Australians make it look. Now I get to introduce people to Japan, from the places you’ve had saved on Instagram for years to tiny bars, konbinis, questionable karaoke performances and the wonderfully weird moments that make absolutely no sense anywhere else. I don’t think a great tour is just about ticking places off a map. It’s about the people you meet, the ridiculous stories you collect and going home with memories you didn’t know you were going to make. I'm just lucky I get to be part of them.

I was lucky to be part of such a nice group of people and with Charlie as our amazing tour guide. She made sure we were well informed all throughout the tour, both about the tour itself and all the landmarks, while also making sure everyone had fun along the way. I made the best memories during this trip, I would 100% recommend One Life Adventures to everyone!

The pace was fast but we got to see and experience so much l especially enjoyed the karaoke activity, Koyasan, the tour of the Peace Park in Hiroshima Miyajima Island and getting to know the other people on the tour. We experienced many forms of transportation too. We had a few shared meals with a lot of laughing involved. Overall we had an unforgettable experience !!!

But the thing that stood out the most about this tour was our guide, Charlie.
She was very organized, joyful, helpful, and had great knowledge of all the places we visited. By the end of the tour, she felt more like a friend than a guide.
She ended the tour with a beautiful gift that she had custom-made for each and every person on the tour. It was a handwritten postcard with a design on the back featuring places, phrases, and things that reminded us of this trip, along with a little souvenir that we can put on our bags.
She is just amazing, and if I could choose a guide, I would choose her every single time!

Our first impression was that she was a wizard, she knew the tour like the back of her palm and getting through the trains and buses was a breeze because of her. Charlie really got the group together by suggesting bars and places to have dinner so we could all spend time together, she was the glue. And even beyond just doing her job she helped us onward with our travels, gave us handwritten beautiful postcards that had personal messages for everyone and a design that had all of our moments throughout the trip. I lost my bag witch had my passport in it and she helped me find it. It was a great experience and a true pleasure to get such a wonderful tour guide on this trip.

She was also very flexible and did a great job keeping the group dynamic positive. She made an effort to have conversations with everyone and made sure nobody felt left out. She was easy to contact, great at navigating, and even sent us her live location when needed, which was especially helpful. I had a great time with her and would definitely recommend her as a guide

The group I travelled with was lovely as well, and we all had such a great time together! Some of my highlights included seeing Mount Fuji, visiting the monkey park in Kyoto, spending a night in a beautiful temple, and so much more.
It was such an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend a trip with Charlie as your guide!

The tour has a great range of experiences from the vibrant and bustling cities to the mountains and quiet temples. There were lots of fun and interesting activities scheduled throughout and particular activity highlights were the Kendo and sushi making classes. It was incredible to be able to stay in temples in and get really immersed in Japanese culture.
I think the tour has a nice blend of culture and fun and feel there’s something for everyone included. The schedule was quite busy with a fair amount of travelling and early starts, but it’s worth it to see the many things Japan has to offer.
Our guide Charlie was friendly and helpful throughout and provided lots of suggestions of activities during downtime which were appropriate to the group. Charlie was patient and accommodating of the many questions we had, and whilst there were some questions that couldn’t be answered straight away, Charlie always checked details of the itinerary and timings for us promptly and was willing to research info to answer our questions and learn for future tours. Charlie was up for socialising with the group during downtime and brought a fun energy to the tour.
