Upgrades are only possible to a private room within the same lodge; hotel upgrades are not possible because the route is different.

Can I go if I have altitude sickness?

You can prevent altitude sickness up until the day of your trip; if you are still sick, it is advisable not to make the trip.

Is it possible to see the salt flats during sunset/night time? It has been a dream of mine, but I notice in the tour description that we always sleep in hostels due to cold nights.

This tour does not include a sunset because it's a group tour. The sunset can only be seen on a personalized private tour.

Can I add a day before and after the tour? Also, do I need to get a visa ahead of time?

You can book your trip one day in advance, no problem. Just select the exact date. You must complete the VISA process yourself; we don't handle it.

Can I arrange for flight instead of using the night bus?

Unfortunately, we do not have the option to travel by plane, we only offer bus trips.

I'm interested in booking the May 30th date as a solo traveller. How many others are currently booked on this date? Will the tour still run if I am the only one booked? I will be travelling with a large 22kg suitcase would that be ok for the transportation?

We covered a lot of territory and the guide was informative, explaining what we were seeing and how it formed. He was very personable and accommodating. The altiplano hostels, that were in areas that reached -5 to -7C, had no heat or hot water and travelers should be advised to bring their own towels and some toilet paper along with their personal supplies. Overall however, I thought is was well worth what I paid for it and it was definitely a worthwhile experience. The tour company took very good care of me, meeting me and taking me to each destination. I especially appreciated the hotel room in Uyuni that was provided before and after the tour. It was very comfortable, and after the tour a shower was sorely needed!Show more

Our experience was excellent! We don't have to worry any single thing. Everything was taken care for from flight, to accommodation, to airport transfer and the tours. Our guide, Marco is even more exceptional. He made sure that we are all ok especially those who feel the altitude sickness. My friend is asthmatic and he always checks on her & make sure she is ok. Marco is not only an excellent guide but also a good photographer, director and creator. We are lucky to have him and having a good pictures for us to remembering by, he made sure that we have all the best experience and memorable time in Uyuni and most especially the Salt Flats!Show more

An utterly "other worldy" experience! First day on Salt Flats was great - but only really after we left the over crowded bit where all the single day visitors congregate. Once out on the salt flats it became interesting and the sun set experience was beautiful. But then came the second day when we headed south towards the Chili frontier and all the volcanoes and weird scenery. This was like I would imagine a trip to Mars. The red, green and blue lagoons with their unique Flamingo populations, the high altitude desert, the walk across the live volcano caldera at 4900m with bubbling mud and water. It was telling that all of the group found Day 2 more stunning than the Day 1 on the Salt Flats, stunning as that was too. Biggest negative of the trip was the night bus down from La Paz. Seriously uncomfortable. But, the service and attitude of Jose Angulo and his team at the Joker Expedition Office and Hotel was exceptional. He organised our return flights instead of having to use the night bus again. Drove us the airport and provided a free night in one of his Hotel rooms in place of the night bus. I strongly recommend Joker Expedition (591 73336307) if you want a good contact for Tours and Accommodation in Uyuni.Show more

  You just need to enter the date you want this tour for, and then you can make the reservation. Your reservation will be confirmed for the date you want. If you want to start on July 31st, this is your itinerary: July 31st: 8 pm pick-up from your hotel, transfer to the bus terminal for the trip to Uyuni. August 1st: Arrive in Uyuni for a day tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats, overnight at a salt hostel. August 2nd: Tour to the lagoons and deserts, overnight at a rock hostel. August 3rd: Tour to the colored lagoons, overnight bus to La Paz. August 4th: Arrive in La Paz at 6 am, pick-up and transfer to your hotel.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
