You'll arrive in Reykjavik and get transferred to your hotel. This evening there's a welcome meeting where you'll meet the other families traveling with you on the tour.

Reykjavik
Start with the Perlan museum to see exhibits about Iceland's volcanic forces and geological formations. Grab a classic Icelandic hot dog for lunch, then board a ship heading out into Faxafló Bay to look for minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins, and porpoises. The rest of your day is open, so you can head back to relax at the hotel or wander around Reykjavik on your own.

Hveragerði
You'll hike through hot springs and soak your feet in steaming pools as you go. Check out one of Iceland's longest lava tunnels to see what happens inside a volcanic eruption. Later, stop at a traditional Icelandic horse farm where you'll meet the small, hardy horses and learn about their unique ambling gait called the tölt. Have homemade lunch at the farm, then drive to your hotel in Hveragerði, a town that sits right on its own bubbling hot spring.

Golden Circle
Explore Iceland's famous Golden Circle route. You'll hear the roar of Gullfoss waterfall and visit Geysir hot spring, where all the world's geysers got their name. Head to Thingvellir National Park to see where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Watch bakers pull fresh bread out of hot black sand at a geothermal bakery, taste a warm slice, and get the recipe. Later in the afternoon, there's an option to soak in geothermal waters at a spa.

South Coast
Learn about Iceland's history from the Viking era through the industrial revolution. Walk through a traditional turf-walled dwelling and go inside a 20th-century schoolhouse to see how people lived while learning about Icelandic architecture, folk crafts, and technology. Take a short walk to Skógafoss, one of Iceland's biggest waterfalls with more than 80 feet across, then have lunch at the Skogafoss Bistro. Spend the afternoon on one of Iceland's famous black-sand beaches.

- Day 6
Westman Islands - Vík
Take a voyage to the Westman Islands, a volcanic archipelago off Iceland's southern coast. Land on Heimaey, the only inhabited island, and walk around the white wooden buildings. Learn about the island's recent volcanic history and climb up the slopes of Eldfell crater where the ground stays warm from geothermal heat. Look for puffins and other seabirds on the steep cliffs, then sail back to Vík, the southernmost village in Iceland, known for its black-sand beach and unusual rock formations.

- Day 7
Reykjavik
Head back to Reykjavik this morning with a stop at Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls where you can step behind the water into a misty hidden cave. Continue to the Secret Lagoon, the oldest natural swimming pool in Iceland, for a soak in the hot spring's blue waters. End the day with a farewell dinner back in Reykjavik.
