- Day 1
Bolzano
You'll start with a welcome briefing and get your bike fitted in Bolzano, South Tyrol's capital. Then it's time to walk through the old Italian-style streets, checking out Laubengasse with its covered passageways, the Fruit Market, and Waltherplatz in the center. The Archaeological Museum is worth your time if you want to see the famous Ötzi mummy, a 5,300-year-old preserved body that's pretty remarkable.

- Day 2
Bolzano to Trento
Cycling begins with nice paths right along the Adige river, and you'll pass through orchards as you head to Salorno (around 40km). This is where German-speaking Tyrol transitions to Italian influences. From there, you follow dam pathways that take you directly into Trento, where the old town has medieval architecture and narrow streets worth exploring by evening.

Trento to Lake Garda
You'll keep cycling along the Adige toward Rovereto, then turn westward in the direction of Lake Garda. Stop in Mori for ice cream at Gelateria Bologna if you want to try their famous pistachio flavor. After a short climb, you'll descend to the lake's edge at Torbole and Riva. The day finishes with a boat ride down the entire length of Lake Garda to either Sirmione or Desenzano, giving your legs a break while you take in the scenery.

- Day 4
Lake Garda to Verona
Today mixes flat sections with gentle hills through vineyard country on your way to Verona (around 60km total). This historic city has the Festival Arena where concerts still happen, plus Juliet's house if you're into that story, and the old town walls to walk. The city itself is worth several hours if you have the time.

- Day 5
Verona to Vicenza
You start with a flatter section, then cycle into the Monti Berici hills where you get nice views over Vicenza below (around 60-75km). If the full ride feels like too much, there's an option to take the train to San Bonifacio to cut the day short. Once you're in Vicenza's old town, you can see the architectural influence of Palladio, the medieval architect whose work shaped the city.

Vicenza to Abano Terme / Padua
Leaving Vicenza, you'll cycle past several Venetian villas and then follow the river Bacchiglione toward Abano Terme, one of Italy's well-known spa towns. From there, you take a bus to Padua, which is famous for St. Anthony's basilica and its university heritage. The thermal baths are available to use once you arrive. If you want an extra night here to relax, that option costs additional (and it's part of the charm category).
