Claire· October 25th, 2024Very well-organised experience to some amazing places in Greece with fabulous hotel! Visit Meteora had excellent communication throughout, and the trip itself was seamlessly organised. From meeting the bus in Athens, to being dropped in Meteora with a driver waiting to take us to our hotel, the sunset tour, hiking tour, and transfer to Delphi - it was perfect. The 3 star hotel was very high quality and had amazing views from the balcony of Meteora on one side, and another balcony with a mountain view - we had a great room and felt very lucky! The sunset over Meteora rocks was spectacular - and the tour was much more than that - the very informative and enthusiastic guide showed us some secret hermit caves, one of the oldest churches in the world, and some incredible view points, as well as a visit to one of the monasteries perched atop these amazing rock formations. The second day, we did the 5 hours morning hike with Costa, he was a very knowledgeable guide, who had been climbing and trekking the area for years so had some great insights and stories. It was a pretty easy going trek, with Costa being very considerate of the needs of the group and keeping a steady pace. We had a small group of around 12, so think it would be suitable for many, and a great way to view the area with a hidden monastery along the way! The following day we visited Delphi - I highly recommend including this in a rip to Greece as it was one of my favourite places. Perched in the mountains with an epic view out to the ocean on one side, the archaeological site was huge, with some amazing temples, an amphitheatre and even a stadium - the history here is very interesting. We had a transfer to Delphi with Dimitri, who drove 30 mins back to me after I stupidly left my phone in his car - what a legend - can't thank him enough. Ending with a public bus back to Athens, which was comfortable and easy to use. All in all, I highly recommend this trip and Visit Meteora, which are a very well renowned local company - you see a lot without the stress of planning your self, or trying to make your own way to these out of reach sites. Thank you for everything!Show moreTrip date: October 2024
Kamala· August 8th, 2022The bus from Delphi to Athens was really bad and brought our experience which was excellent till then down. The hotel in Kastraki is not what I will recommend to anyone. Very minimal service. The tours and guides were excellent in Meteora.Show more

Julee· June 7th, 2021We grabbed this tour at the last moment after our Egypt tour and we couldn't have been more happier! We where able to visit several places in a short period of time - on our time - which was exactly what we where looking for. The bed and breakfast in Meteora was amazing! The tour company even went the extra mile to accommodate a request to stop at Thermopiles on our way from Meteora to Delphi. My husband being a Marine was just thrilled! Greece overall was amazing! The people where so welcoming everywhere we went and the food was divine! If you thinking about going to Greece....DO IT!!! This has become one of our favorite countries that we've visited and we will be back!Show more

They were exemplary. All pickups were punctual, vehicles were safe and immaculate, drivers careful and courteous and the guide Vasilis was thoughtful, and provided relevant information in an interesting manner. In addition, on arrival in Meteora we needed to make emergency international calls and VisitMeteora staff, Georgia, and the manager were supportive and allowed us to use their office phones free of charge (our phones were unable to make international calls). We have traveled extensively and we believe this company is everything and more that a traveler could want.Show moreTrip date: November 2019

Asked on January 19th, 2025I am bringing my mother and she has had knee surgery 2 years ago and uses a cane. She is able to walk for long distance but stairs are difficult for her. Do you recommend this tour? How difficult is the hiking and how fast of a walk will this tour require?
Visit MeteoraOperator•Written January 2025The hiking and walking involved in our tours are moderate, covering 7km with an elevation gain of 200 meters. The main consideration is the stairs at the monasteries, as many are built on cliffs and require climbing steps to access. During the shared tours, you can decide how many stairs your mother is comfortable climbing, as entering a monastery is not mandatory. If anyone feels overwhelmed, they are welcome to stay with our colleague at the parking area, which offers a beautiful view and a relaxing spot to wait for the group.
