After a suitable wait, we embark on a scenic 1 hour and 45-minute train journey, met at Aguas Calientes station by our team who'll escort you to the hotel. Later in the evening around 8 p.m., our local Machupicchu guide will contact you, providing further insights about the upcoming Machupicchu tour.

After the Sacred Valley tour, you will take a train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, our representative will be waiting for you at the train station and will escort you to your hotel. Later in the evening, around 8:00 p.m., our local Machu Picchu guide will contact you to provide further details and insights about the upcoming Machu Picchu tour for the next day.

Can you please clarify the price quoted includes which category of hotel. Mode of transport for the tours? Tour Group size?

The price will depend on the hotel category you choose. Transportation for the tours is provided in a van with a capacity for approximately 15 to 18 participants. The group size for the tour is also between 15 and 18 people.

Are there no shared accommodations for this tour? Do you know the degree of difficulty for the trek to Rainbow Mountain? Are there other transportation option to Lima after the tour (other than flight)?

No, there are no shared rooms with other passengers; the accommodation is exclusively for you. For this tour, you need to select the single room option. Regarding the hike to Rainbow Mountain, the difficulty level is moderate to challenging, mainly due to the high altitude, so good acclimatization is recommended. For returning to Lima after the tour, besides flying, you can also travel by interprovincial bus. The journey takes approximately 18 to 20 hours.

Is this trip suitable for solo travel? If i Book this, I just have to make sure I be there in Cusco on the date and everything else is looked after?

Yes, this trip is perfectly suitable for solo travelers. Once you make the booking, you only need to be in Cusco on the tour date.

Will there be any hiking or trekking in any part of the tour? The itinerary mentions purchasing an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu. Could you clarify what this entails? Is there an option to hire a pony or mule for transportation during the tour?

There are two hikes included in the tour: Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain. Both involve moderate to challenging uphill trekking, but they are among the most scenic parts of the trip. The tour includes a visit to Machu Picchu, and travelers are required to purchase an official entrance ticket in advance. For the hikes to Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain, it is possible to hire a horse for the uphill portion. This service is optional, must be arranged on-site, and is paid directly to local horse handlers.

I joined the 6 days Cusco tour with Kantu. I was kept informed of the itinerary every step of the way and the pickup is always on time, the guides are professional and courteous. The only improvement I would suggest is the hotels and buffet meals could do a bit better. I upgraded to 4 star accommodation but the hotels I stayed in are 3 stars at best. The inclusive breakfast and lunch buffet can improve somewhat, although I do understand these are included as part of the package and couldn’t expect too much. Overall I had a very positive experience with Kantu and I would recommend it to anyone!Show more

Will there be any hiking or trekking in any part of the tour? The itinerary mentions purchasing an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu. Could you clarify what this entails? Is there an option to hire a pony or mule for transportation during the tour?

  There are two hikes included in the tour: Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain. Both involve moderate to challenging uphill trekking, but they are among the most scenic parts of the trip. The tour includes a visit to Machu Picchu, and travelers are required to purchase an official entrance ticket in advance. For the hikes to Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain, it is possible to hire a horse for the uphill portion. This service is optional, must be arranged on-site, and is paid directly to local horse handlers.

  The entrance ticket to the Machu Picchu citadel is included in the tour package. Circuit 2 is subject to availability, and as of now, entrance tickets are available starting from September onwards. The horse rental for the Humantay Lake and Rainbow mountain hike costs approximately 90 to 100 soles (around 25 to 28 USD).
