Thank you very much for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience you experienced upon your arrival. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the long wait at the airport and the lack of timely communication. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide, and we completely understand how frustrating this must have been after a long international flight. Your experience has been shared with our team to ensure this situation is not repeated. We deeply value your feedback—it helps us improve and better serve our guests in the future. Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Kind regards Destination Services México

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the discomfort and distress you endured during your tour. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we take your feedback very seriously. We also understand that the Mexican culture often emphasizes open friendliness and attentiveness, which may sometimes be interpreted differently. Please know that there was no intention to provoke any harassment or discomfort, and we regret if any misunderstandings contributed to your experience. Since you were the only two remaining guests for the latter part of your tour, our staff aimed to provide a personalized service, akin to a private tour. However, in hindsight, this may have been misinterpreted, and we apologize if it came across differently. Our intention was to offer you a tailored experience, and we regret if this was not perceived as intended. That said, we are deeply sorry that the behaviour of the tour guide did not meet your expectations and that your experience was overshadowed by these issues. We are currently investigating this matter thoroughly and will take appropriate actions to prevent such incidents in the future. Your candid feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services and ensure a safer, more respectful experience for all our guests. Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention. We genuinely hope to have the opportunity to restore your trust in the future. Destination Services Mexico

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you felt safe throughout the trip and that our guides were punctual, knowledgeable, and communicated well in English — these are qualities we take pride in. We understand that the structure of the tour, with changing groups and occasional private guiding, was different from what you had expected. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it helps us clarify expectations more clearly in future itineraries and descriptions. Your feedback is truly valuable, and we’re happy that, overall, you had a positive and safe experience. Destination Services Mexico

    • Destination Services MexicoOperatorWritten January 2026

At this time, we do not offer international flight reservations or airfare quotes, as we specialize in selling packages that include activities and hotel accommodations.

We recommend that you contact an airline or a travel agency specializing in the sale of airline tickets directly, as they will be happy to assist you with flight options from London Heathrow or Birmingham Airport.

How strenuous is this tour? We are in our seventies and are limited in our physical activities.

    Age Range
    Tour Details
    • Destination Services MexicoOperatorWritten January 2026

This tour involves several hours of activity throughout the day, primarily walking and standing for extended periods of time. The routes include areas with uneven surfaces, so good balance and the ability to walk continuously are important. While the pace is not fast, the tour can be physically demanding due to the total time spent on your feet. Part of the experience is conducted by van, which does allow for some moments of rest.

Considering that you have shared you are seventy years old and have limited physical activity, we kindly recommend carefully evaluating your comfort level and endurance for this type of tour. Our goal is for you to feel safe, comfortable, and able to fully enjoy the experience.

The tour dates are October 11-18, 2026. On the second day, you can join the group at the Wyndham Garden Cancún Downtown. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a discount for unused nights, as the rate we have offered you is a fixed package.

If we were to change hotels to the one allocated for day 1 in the check in time is that acceptable rather than being met at the airport and still get the benefit of that accommodation?

    • Destination Services MexicoOperatorWritten September 2025

You may make your own way to the Wyndham Garden Hotel on October 11, 2026, from 3:00 PM onwards, and enjoy your included night of accommodation. On October 12, your guide will meet you at the hotel along with the other passengers booked for the same date.

    1) We will be staying in Cancun a couple of days before the tour, do we have to be transferred to the hotel offered on October 12th or can we picked up from our hotel on October 13th? If not what time would be transferred to the hotel? 2) Do we have free time in each city? Like Valladolid and Merida? 3) Will we have time in Tulum to swim in the beach there? And in Bacalar to swim in the lake? 4) Which Cenote will we be visting? I've heard great things about Ik ill cenote but from the the tourist pictures it doesn't seem we will be visiting a less popular one

    • Destination Services MexicoOperatorWritten August 2025

      1) The package includes the night of October 12th-13th at the Fairfield Inn Airport Hotel. On October 13th, your guide will pick you up in the lobby between 7:50 and 8:00 am. We cannot pick you up from another hotel. 2) In Valladolid and Merida, there is free time, and a city tour is offered in each city. 3) In Tulum, we only visited the archaeological site, and the guide may give you a few minutes to walk around the hotel zone, but not to enter the beach. The same is true in Bacalar; it's just a photo stop. 4) The cenote we visited is Hubiku, an underground cenote with an entrance or eye in the ceiling. It is located 12 km northwest of Valladolid.

There are no optional tours offered with this program. As per how much you could spend on meals and tips, it's totally up to you. A general price for a meal per person could go from 250 to 350 pesos MXN for a decent meal, nothing fancy as that would be a higher price.

Is it possible to go from Bacalar tot the airport by taxi?

    • Destination Services MexicoOperatorWritten January 2025

It could be an option, it would take between 5-6 hours to get to the airport from Chetumal and it would need to be a private transfer. You would be missing the stops for Bacalar and Tulum. The price for the transfer is $350 USD for a vehicle for 2 people.

      TravelerWritten January 2025

Is that possible from Bacalar or from Tulum?

    • Destination Services MexicoOperatorWritten January 2025

We have checked the times and you could make it in time for both options. If you were to take the CUN flight that leaves after 22 hrs, you would be reaching Cancun between 4 and 5pm, so you could take a taxi to the airport and be there with plenty of time. If you were to take the option for the flight from Tulum, you could do the visit to the archeological site and then the driver could drop you off downtown Tulum where you could take a taxi to the Tulum airport and be there on time at 15hrs.
