Airport transfers are included if you arrive on the first day of the tour and depart on the last day of the tour from TNR Airport. Arrival transfer provided if a flight lands between 0000 on day 1 to 0400 on day 2. Departure transfer provided if a flight takes off between 0000 on the last day until 0400 on the day after the trip ends.

I am loving the look of this trip but feel it lacks enough time to snorkel/dive/ enjoy the beaches of Madagascar. Is there anyway of adding on a few days in Nosy be? Or another beach destination that's recommended? Acutely aware that I will probably only visit Madagascar once in my life and I want it to be out of this world.

Our two Madagascar trips are aimed at more of a wildlife and walking experience, although a beach extension does sound amazing. On our "Madagascar: The Lost Continent" tour there is a free day on Day 11 and Day 12 to enjoy the beach. Alternatively we could assist you with adding on post accommodation to enjoy some beach leisure days at your own pace.

Is backpacking travel expected on this trip? Do we need to bring sleeping bags, hammocks, sleeping mats etc? And what climate do we need to pack for at that time of the year?

I am very keen to book this trip for me and my son. The most important thing for me to know beforehand, since this is a hiking/trekking trip, is, if we are expected to bring backpacks, carry them all of the trek, and if we need to bring our own sleeping bags, mosquito nets etc?

I think the section in the trip notes about money needs updating. They said ATMs only set the airport. We found there were ATMs in the large towns we went through. This means Two places outside the capital during the trip. The tour leader said it would be s nightmare to get money others then by ATM outside the capital. The exchange rate I got with the ATM I used was 15% better than the people got who changed cash at the airport. Show more

  Equipment: Sleeping Bag needed, 3/4 season comfort rating (temperature 0°C to 10°C). Sleeping Mat recommended. Porters will carry main luggage during trekking. You'll need a trek bag (max 18kg) and a small day backpack for daily essentials. Pack layers for varying temperatures: waterproof jacket, warm layers, and clothing suitable for different climate zones.
