  • J

    Josh

    Asked on April 26th, 2024

What is the average miles / day of this tour? I am hoping to find a moderately challenging tour (40-50 miles/day).

    Tour Details
    • Bicycle AdventuresOperatorWritten April 2024

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes tour is an all-levels tour designed for a couple with varying levels. If you're looking for something closer to the 40-50 mile range, you might look at our San Juan Islands tour. The guides will be able to provide additional mileage that you can ride on your own, or with another guests after the organized rides.

Are bicycles, helmet and lock provided? Are E bikes available?

    Tour Details
    Transport
    • Bicycle AdventuresOperatorWritten March 2024

Yes, bikes and helmets are provided. Locks are not necessary as you will not be leaving your bike in places where locking it up would be necessary since guides store and lock the bikes on the racks each night. Pedal assist e-bikes are available for a $200 upgrade. We use Giant Roam and Liv Rove e-bikes in our fleet, all purchased in 2023 so they're in great shape.

  • L

    • Bicycle AdventuresOperatorWritten November 2023

We use a fleet of Giant & Liv bikes on our domestic tours. You have your choice of a flat bar road bike (Giant Fastroad 1, or Liv Thrive 1 in XS only) or a drop bar road bike (Giant Defy Advanced, or Liv Avail Advanced in XS and XXS only). You can also upgrade to a pedal-assist e-bike for $200 if you'd like, those are the Giant Roam E+, and Liv Rove E+ in XS only.

    • Bicycle AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2022

This tour is a great Rails to Trails tour, meaning the vast majority of the riding is on bike paths, away from traffic. Mileage ranges from 15-45 miles/day with about 1,200 feet or less of climbing/day. Bicycle Adventures provides all meals except for one dinner and one lunch during the week. We stay at great hotels each night - comfortable beds and hot showers are a must for us! We also provide 2 guides, a support vehicle, and bikes (e-bikes are available for a $200 upgrade) for the tour, you just bring comfortable clothes to ride in and we'll take care of the rest!
