Asked on October 29th, 2025I am interested in doing the 15 days tour through Tibet. I was wondering if you also offer the Tibetan entry permit for this journey?
Great Tibet TourOperator•Written October 2025We do provide a Tibet entry permit for this journey, as well as an invitation letter for your China visa application. Porters may get involved on Days 8, 9, and 10, usually within 15 kilos.

Tania
Traveler•Written October 2025Do your colleagues pick me up at the airport's entrance hall for arrivals in Lhasa? And do i need to get the permit and letter for entering Tibet before I apply for a visa for China?
Great Tibet TourOperator•Written October 2025Your tour guide will pick you up at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, usually at exit 5. You should apply for your China visa (without mentioning Tibet) first, then we use your China visa and passport copies to apply for your Tibet travel permit. If you mention Tibet, they will ask you to present your Tibet travel permit. But in Tibet, without your China visa, they will not issue a Tibet travel permit. To sum up, it's a loop and the conflict policy of different government departments. If you book with us, we can provide you a China travel invitation letter and itinerary.

Traveler•Written October 2025Do you know if I need the Chinese letter invitation to apply for a Chinese visa?
Great Tibet TourOperator•Written October 2025Yes, we can provide an invitation letter and a related itinerary without Tibet for your China visa application.
Great Tibet TourOperator•Written November 2025You can enjoy the China visa-free policy this year. There is currently no information on whether this preferential policy will continue next year. If you plan to visit Tibet next year, we will help you keep an eye on the relevant policies.

Asked on February 4th, 2025Can I please ask if instead of doing Kailash Kora, a trip to Guge kingdom (Tholing Monastery, Dongga and Piyang ruins) can be arranged for me? So I will join the group for Kailash Kora but take a deviation from Darchen to Guge Kingdom and then meet the group at Darchen after they complete the Kora?
Great Tibet TourOperator•Written February 2025It's available but we will arrange a private guide from Lhasa with you because the group guide will go to Kora. The private tour cost is high.

Traveler•Written February 2025Can I please know cost of 15 days of private guide?

The addtinal fee for replacing the trekking with Guge Kingdom is USD1500 (10-day private guide, the food and accommodation of the private guide, the vehicle operating cost, and the cost diffierence of the hotel)

Asked on September 12th, 20241. There would be tour guide and/or local porter accompanying us during the 3-day trekking in Kailash as well? 2. Does the tour package cover the trekking fees including guesthouse, insurance, oxygen bottle (upon needed to use)? 3. Where should we store luggage (I have 2 big luggage) during the 3 day trekking in Kailash? I would carry a medium backpack only. 4. Do we need to prepare enough food during the 3-day trekking as for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Great Tibet TourOperator•Written September 20241. Yes, the local tour guide will accompany you during the 3-day trek. 2. Yes, it includes the guesthouse fee, Travel Agency Liability insurance, and oxygen tank for emergency use. However, the insurance is for the accident, so you can buy one by yourself if you need. 3. You can leave the extra luggage in the vehicle, and trek with a backpack only. 4. There are supply stations during the three-day trek, so don't worry about it. Besides, you can prepare some snacks to provide energy.

The price is USD 2494p.p based on 4-star hotels. Would you like to join? 2. The itinerary includes breakfast.
