  This was a brilliant trip BH Lanka tours were really good and very supportive.The tour ran very smoothly with a good variety of hotels and activities. Our guide ,Sidith,was brilliant.He not only explsined all the sights ,he often stopped when something unexpected was seen at the side of the road and he explsined all about it....Brilliant stuff. Sadly however two thirds of the way through our trip he was called away because his mother in law had to go into hospital.BH lanka replaced him seamlessly with another.However,we think the replacement was more of a driver than guide and he was unable to explain sights and attractions very well.This led us to not bother with some activities at the back end of the tour since we didnt think we would get much from it...So the last few days were dissapointing. However,all in all BH Lanka can be highly recommended and fully trusted.Show more

  We loved our tour of Sri Lanka and were blown away by the country’s lushness, vibrant colours, richness of its history, the difference in its regions, and warmth of the people. We booked a semi-luxury tour with BH Lanka via TourRadar and could not have been happier. BH Lanka were more than happy to amend the itinerary to our needs from a 12 to 14 day tour and were excellent and timely with any communication. Our guide and driver, Nishantha Rathnayaka, was fabulous. His in-depth knowledge, pride and passion for his country was wonderful. His attentiveness to our requirements, excellent driving, unflappable nature, and provision of extra information and suggestions were greatly appreciated. We would absolutely recommend BH Lanka for a fabulous trip to Sri Lanka and look forward to visiting this beautiful country again soon.Show more

  This tour was magnificent. Of all the tours we have done around the world, this tour was probably the best. The pace is so well thought out, never rushed with some relaxing stops but also many good things to do and see. The other people on our tour couldn’t make it, so my husband and I by default ended up getting a private tour essentially which was wonderful. Our tour guide, Bhathiya, was one of the highlights. He has such a kind heart and is an amazing person, which made our tour 10x better. He had so much information to share and was so knowledgeable which kept our drives and stops very engaging. The vehicle was always kept immaculate and he was happy to help with anything we needed. Every hotel on this tour was lovely, some really unique stays as well. The itinerary is perfect for anyone who wants to see a lot in two weeks, but not feel exhausted from doing too much. It was a really perfect 2 weeks and our experience with this company, our guide and the country make us want to come back as soon as possible.   10/10, My wife and I were lucky enough to have our amazing driver/guide Bathi to take us around. He was incredibly knowledgeable and flexible with us at all times. He even showed us some hidden jems that he personally knew. He really made our time in Sri Lanka special and treated us just like family of his own.   Myself and my Partner (29 years old) had an amazing time on the Semi-Luxury tour of Sri Lanka. The tour was seamless from start to finish and the trip was made by our amazing tour guide Dudly. Dudly was caring, knowledgeable, punctual and very good company for the 2 weeks we were with him. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the trip of a lifetime, often adding additional experiences that were not on the tours itinerary. I would recommend this tour to anyone and, if you are lucky enough to get Dudly as your guide then you will have the trip of a lifetime.Show more

  Overall the tour was very good, our driver Janica was competent and for most of the journey helpful and friendly, however for the first week my wife and I believed we were having to fit in with Janica’s itinerary rather than the tour itinerary, for example we were arriving at hotels at 2/3pm whilst there was still 4/3 hours of daylight available for sightseeing, in the meantime Janica was meeting family or friends after dropping us at the hotels! Day 2, although we had plenty of time we did not visit Sigiriya rock museum or gardens as requested with Prashadika Dilshani 27th July. Day 3, in the morning we visited the Sigiriya rock museum and went on the village tour! The boat ride was a complete waste of time we walked maybe 300 metres each way, we were rowed to the middle of a lake for NO apparent reason, other than our driver insisting we give the boatman a tip, this should be removed from the itinerary! We did NOT go to Pidurangala, despite researching the walk and advising Prashadika Dilshani that we only wished to do the initial and mid parts of the walk, Janica removed this from our itinerary, I questioned him about this and he had already decided that it was too much for us, WITHOUT consultation! In the afternoon we visited Kaudulla national park, the park was as expected, but we had to tour the park in a 25 year old jeep in poor condition, the cushions had no padding, so we were forced to stand most of the time, the vehicle had an issue with the starter motor and had to be ‘push started’ four times. Again this is a quality issue that requires addressing by BH Lanka tours, my understanding is that all safari tours are approx $72/$75, so we could have had a comfortable jeep for the same cost! Janica insisted we give the jeep driver a very generous tip, which was not deserved because the quality of the vehicle was substandard! Day 4 & 5, our stay was at the Amethyst resort, on 6th June I had requested with Prashadika Dilshani that we stay at the Amaya beach hotel, which he acknowledged however in the second tourist service voucher received 4th August this was changed to the Amethyst resort! I suspect that no quality assurance inspection was undertaken by BH Lanka tours, the Amethyst resort would NOT make a 2 star rating, the food was poor, the rooms were dirty and substandard, the hotel had NO atmosphere, the bar was empty both evenings! We walked to the Amaya beach hotel and they had plenty of rooms!! Day 6, we visited Polonnararuwa, then dropped at the hotel after lunch! Day 7, on this occasion Janica offered to take us to the cave temple, so we could determine if we could climb the steps to the cave, we declined, we went on to the Temple of the Tooth. Early afternoon we went to the ‘Cultural dance’ and we were then dropped at the hotel! Day 8, as per the itinerary we visited the botanical gardens then to the viewpoint and we expected to be dropped in Kandy but Janica strongly persuaded us that he would not get a parking space in Kandy and despite our disagreement he dropped us at the hotel mid afternoon! We got a taxi at our expense to and from the hotel and spent the late afternoon and early evening in Kandy. (there were no parking issues!). The remainder of the tour followed the printed itinerary! Had our driver followed the itinerary, arranged to provide a reasonable quality vehicle for the Kaudulla national park safari and had the Amaya beach hotel been of a similar quality to the other hotels on the tour then a higher rating would have been given.
