We normally start the tour around 8:30 AM on Day 1. On Day 7, the airport drop-off can be arranged at approximately 7:00 PM, depending on the day's sightseeing and traffic conditions. As you will be travelling from Mirissa to Bandaranaike International Airport, please allow approximately 3–4 hours of travel time. We also recommend arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before your international flight departure. Therefore, it would be better to arrange a late-night departure flight on Day 7, if possible, so you can complete the tour comfortably without rushing.

Why is the price for 1 person calculated as if there were 2 people? Is there a single supplement, or is the price based on sharing a room?

This was a 7 day tour of rural Sri Lanka in a car with 2 other travellers, a retired Dutch couple. Our driver/guide was Sameendra, a really good guy. Knowledgeable & resourceful. The 4 of us got on really well & had a great tour. Highlights included climbing Lion rock near Sirigiya for the sunrise, visiting the Sacred Tooth temple at Kandy, stunning scenery at Ella & a wildlife safari at Yala where we saw elephants, buffalo, deer, mongeese & even a leopard. Not everything went to plan. A train strike meant we couldn’t take the scheduled train ride but Sameendra had contingency plans. Some of the accommodation was mediocre (some was good). The food was all excellent. The breakfasts were included. Other meals were extra but Sameendra knew good places to go. The value of this tour was Sameendra who knows everyone at each location I can certainly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a great overview of what rural Sri Lanka has to offer in a weekShow more

I was disappointed with this tour. It seemed like a good section of it was geared to make me spend as much money as possible. Some of the tours were not really tours but stops to ensure I spent more money. Example, the gem factory is really just a huge jewelry store with marked up jewelry and sales people pressuring you to buy things. Also, the tour guides at each of the spots were mostly not very good. I could not understand them, they didn't seem to care if I understood them and they just wanted their tip at the end and if I didn't give them a big enough tip, one guy actually complained. It was a waste of my time. Our driver was okay, but he insulted my niece by showing her a picture of her where she looked slimmer and basically asked, what happened? I was mortified. Also, the car we spent so much time in was very cramped and uncomfortable, it was a compact car and we both had to sit in the back seat, both of us have long legs and if we sat behind the driver, it was horribly uncomfortable. A couple of the hotels were a little questionable, one had about 30 seconds of hot water. A couple smelled weird, and the food at the hotels was not good. Actually, I was surprised by the food in Sri Lanka, I was expecting it to be fabulous, but it was the opposite. My neighbor is thinking of going to Sri Lanka and I'm probably going to tell her to go somewhere else. The one highlight was the village tour, they guides here were great and the tour was interactive and fun. Our driver kept pressuring us to hike, the temperature was extreme and the sun was crazy hot. I kept telling him I had no desire to hike in the heat. I've been to over 50 countries and this is probably one of the more disappointing countries/trips I've experienced.Show more
