What does upgrade mean at hotels? What are the improvements compared to standard rooms?

We are looking to book your 7 day Splendour of Sri Lanka tour next February but need to know that if we start on 4th February 2027, we need to be back at Bandaranaike airport on 10th February by 4.35pm as we fly back to Chennai that night. Would we be back by that time?

From Mirissa to Colombo Airport, it will take approximately 3 hours travel time. Your tour guide will arrange the timing accordingly to make sure you reach the airport on time. However, on the last day you will not be able to do whale watching due to the flight departure timing. if you can book later flight, it will be better......

I want to have a family tour of 4 persons at August 2026. I want to take a flight arrived CMB airport at 23:30hrs. How about your service? If I join the trip, I need to stay at Colombo for a night and start the trip at next day? It is right?

Since your flight arrives at 11:30 PM, it would be better to stay near the airport on arrival night and start the tour the next day. If you would like, we can share a quote including the airport transfer and hotel accommodation for the first night. Normally, our group tours are arranged with standard-category hotels. However, we also have moderate and luxury hotel package options available.

I'm interested in the group tour but I'm traveling as a single person. Are there people signed up already? I do not want to be the only person in the tour with the guide. Am I allowed to join the group tour as a single person?

At the moment, there are 3 passengers assigned to this tour. More travelers may still join as the departure date gets closer. Yes, you are welcome to join this group tour as a solo traveler.

what kind of hotels are offered, whether an upgrade or a private trip is possible?

Hotels mentioned are Goddess Garden / Similar (Standard) at Sigiriya, Waters Spring Hotel / Similar (Moderate) at Kandy, Queens Mount Glen Heights / Similar (Standard) at Nuwara Eliya, The Peak Ella / Similar (Standard) at Ella, The Grand Yala Hotel / Similar (Standard) at Tissamaharama, and Jaga Bay Resort / Similar (Standard) at Weligama. All include Bed and Breakfast.

If no one were to book, would it essentially become a private tour with just me or would you not hold the tour unless a minimum amount of people booked?

If no additional travellers join, the tour will still operate as scheduled and will continue as a private tour for the confirmed participants. We do not cancel the tour due to minimum numbers.

By what time needs my flight to arrive at Bandaranaike International to be able to start the tour on this date? In the last day what time will we be at the airport in general? I want to know because I want to decide if I will book the flight for the same or next day?

If you are arriving on 21st February in the morning, an arrival time between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM will not be an issue and we can proceed with the tour as planned. If your flight arrives earlier or late at night, you may arrive on 20th February and stay overnight near the airport or in Negombo. In that case, we can pick you up on 21st February morning without any problem.

Is it possible to start this tour on Feb 5th instead of the 7th?

Unfortunately, we're unable to arrange this tour to start on February 5th. The earliest available start date remains February 7th, 2026 as scheduled.

  Thanks for your reply, but the whale watching is in the morning before breakfast, so I don't understand why we would miss that. I know there are a couple of planned stop offs on the way back to the airport, so surely it would be those which might be impacted, not the early morning whale watching...? Please can you clarify as there are no viable flights back later that night to Chennai and we return to England from Chennai early the following morning.
