7 Days in Sri Lanka, incl. Sigiriya and Kandy
An action-packed week covers 11 destinations from Colombo to Negombo, featuring UNESCO sites Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla Cave Temple. Two wildlife safaris, tea plantation visits, and whale watching in Mirissa included. Accommodations at Lavish Resort Sigiriya and Jaga Bay Resort.

- Day 1
Colombo to Sigiriya
Leave Colombo airport early for the 3.5-hour drive to Sigiriya. One traveler suggests, "Get moving early—airport traffic is heavy until 10 AM." Visit the Golden Cave Temple at Dambulla on your way. Remember to bring socks since you'll need to take off your shoes. End your day with a 4x4 safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. A visitor shares: "We saw over 180 elephants gathered at sunset. It was breathtaking."

- Day 2
Sigiriya to Kandy
Start early at Sigiriya Rock Fortress (opens 7 AM). A traveler advises: "Start the climb before 8 AM—it gets brutally hot later and the crowds arrive by 9." Plan about 2 hours for the 1,200-step climb round trip. Drive 2.5 hours to Kandy, stopping at a spice garden and gem museum. Spend your evening at a cultural dance show and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

- Day 3
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Begin at Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. Take the scenic 3-hour mountain drive to Nuwara Eliya, with a stop at Ramboda Falls. One visitor notes: "Bring a light jacket—the temperature drops significantly in tea country, especially evenings." Include a tea factory tour to see production in action.

- Day 4
Nuwara Eliya to Ella
- Day 5
Ella to Tissamaharama/Yala
- Day 6
Tissamaharama to Mirissa
- Day 7
Mirissa to Departure
Consider the early morning whale watching trip at 6:30 AM—blue whales often appear between December and April. On your 3-hour return to the airport, visit Galle Fort if time allows. A traveler shares: "Walk the fort walls at sunrise before the heat and crowds arrive. The lighthouse views are spectacular."

7 Days in Sri Lanka, incl. Negombo and Sigiriya
The 7-day wellness escape visits 6 destinations including Negombo, Yapahuwa, and Sigiriya. Authentic Ayurvedic treatments at Karunakarala Resort and Maho Paradise Hotel complement cultural experiences at Dambulla Cave Temple and Hiriwadunna village.

- Days 1-3
Negombo
Your journey begins with a 40-minute transfer from Bandaranaike International Airport to Negombo. You'll spend three days at Karunakarala hotel focusing on Ayurvedic treatments. One guest shared: "The treatment rooms are open to the river and jungle and are serene... the women who work there were genuinely welcoming and obviously well trained." Your daily schedule includes a personal consultation with an Ayurvedic physician and various treatments like full-body massage (Shareera Abhyanga), foot therapy and herbal steam baths. Pack loose comfortable clothes since treatment oils can stain. The hotel provides disposable cloth underwear for your convenience.

- Days 4-5
Maho
Next you'll move to Yapahuwa Paradise in Maho for two more days of Ayurvedic care. The resort provides vegetarian meals and herbal snacks throughout your stay. Try to schedule treatments in the morning before the afternoon heat sets in. A recent visitor noted: "The treatment center is perfect for deep rest - dark and silent. Achini was masterful and kind and supervised several new experiences."

- Day 6
Sigiriya & Dambulla
Start early at 6 AM to visit Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO site with Buddhist murals spanning 2,100 square meters. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip on the temple steps. Head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress before 9 AM to avoid crowds and peak temperatures. In the afternoon, take in local village life at Hiriwadunna with bullock cart and boat rides.

- Day 7
Return to Colombo
7 Days in Sri Lanka, incl. Kandy and Nuwara Eliya
A luxurious week spans 8 key destinations including Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Bentota. Six nights in luxury hotels, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and cultural performances await. Half-board meals, professional guides, and AC transport included for around $1,300 total.

- Days 1-2
Kandy & Surrounds
Your journey begins in Kandy, which is about 115km from Colombo Airport. The drive takes 3-4 hours through beautiful mountain landscapes. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic first thing in the morning before other tourists arrive. The Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya are best experienced around 8:30 AM when you can quietly explore the orchids and spice gardens. Stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage on your way but time your visit around elephant bathing at 10 AM or 2 PM.

- Days 3-4
Nuwara Eliya
The 4-hour trip to Nuwara Eliya takes you into Sri Lanka's tea country. Bring warm clothes as it gets quite cold at 6,000+ feet. You can tour a working tea factory to see how Ceylon tea is made but plan to arrive before their 5 PM closing time. On day 4 start the World's End hike at Horton Plains National Park by 6 AM to beat the clouds. The morning dew makes paths slippery so wear shoes with good grip.

- Days 5-6
Bentota Beach
The drive to coastal Bentota takes 5-6 hours. You might want to stop for white water rafting in Kitulgala if conditions are right. In Bentota you can try water sports or take boat tours through the Madu River's mangroves. "The Madu river safari was a highlight - we saw monitor lizards and learned about cinnamon cultivation from locals," one traveler shared.

What people love about 7-day Sri Lanka tours
- Splendour Of Sri Lanka (7 Days) Upgrade to Private Tour Available
I highly recommend Beauty Lanka Travels. Our guide, Janaka Prasanna, was incredibly friendly and made a real effort to tailor the trip to our preferences. He was always happy to share insights about life in Sri Lanka and explain the attractions we visited, which made the experience even more meaningful. The hotels were quite basic, but it’s definitely possible to request a higher standard if that’s something you prefer. For us, the level was perfectly sufficient. The breakfasts were very enjoyable—usually including coffee, juice, eggs, sandwiches, and fresh fruit—so we always started the day full and satisfied. Our guide also knew many great local restaurants where we had absolutely delicious lunches and dinners. We will truly miss that food! Overall, it was a beautiful adventure, and we highly recommend this experience. If possible, we also suggest extending your stay with a few extra days by the sea in Mirissa—it’s an absolutely stunning place.

Overall, this was a very good experience for me, and I left feeling rejuvenated and fulfilled. I would definitely choose Stelaran Holidays again for my next trip to Sri Lanka. - The Sri Lankan Experience - 7 Days
The tour was informative and fun - we saw lots of Sri Lanka and it was great to have a local tour guide show us around. There was a lot of driving involved to get to each destination which is included in the itinerary but took up most of every second day with hours of driving. Overall a good tour with a lovely guide and Sri Lanka was worth the visit!
