Dear Brian, thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the incredible highlights of Patagonia—from the wildlife to the breathtaking hike to Laguna de los Tres—and we’re thrilled that Eve’s assistance made your journey smoother. Regarding your experience as the only traveler on that date, I would like to clarify that we were fully transparent about this at the time of booking. As there were no other passengers confirmed for that departure, we proactively offered you the option to change to a different date. Unfortunately, as no one else joined for that specific schedule, we moved forward with the trip as a solo experience for you, ensuring you could still travel as planned. We appreciate your patience regarding the logistical transitions between locations. We take your feedback about the 'hiccups' and the missed hike in Torres del Paine very seriously; we are constantly refining our coordination with local teams to ensure every detail goes perfectly. Thank you again for your recommendation and for choosing us to explore Patagonia. We would love to welcome you back for another adventure in the future! Best regards, Mercedes

    Rhonda

    Asked on February 26th, 2026

Can you tell me something about the hikes. What is the longest distance en the difference in hight.

    Tour Details
    • People Travel and ExperienceOperatorWritten February 2026

The tour includes two hikes, both full-day excursions with experienced guides.
The first hike is the Full Day Base Las Torres viewpoint in Torres del Paine National Park, departing from Puerto Natales.

Technical details – Base Las Torres (Mirador Las Torres):
Distance: approx. 20 km / 12.4 miles (round trip)
      Duration: 8–9 hours
Elevation gain: approx. 900 meters / 2,950 ft
      Difficulty: Moderate

The hike is non-technical and does not involve altitude, but it does require good physical condition. A professional guide will always accompany the group, and depending on group size, there will also be an assistant guide during the trek.

The second hike included in the program is the Laguna de los Tres trek to see Cerro Fitz Roy, located in El Chaltén.

Technical details – Laguna de los Tres:
Distance: approx. 20–22 km / 12–13.7 miles (round trip)
      Duration: 8–9 hours
Elevation gain: approx. 750 meters / 2,460 ft
      Difficulty: Moderate

This trek has a similar level of difficulty to Base Las Torres. It is not considered technical or difficult, and it does not involve altitude, but it does require participants to be in good physical condition.
Both hikes are among the most iconic in Patagonia and are perfectly achievable for travelers who are active and used to walking long distances.

      TravelerWritten February 2026

I already started to do some more strenght training. I walk almost everyday, but have to start building up till 22 km. I am 53.

    • People Travel and ExperienceOperatorWritten February 2026

With that level of preparation and eight months ahead, you will be in very good shape for the hikes in Patagonia. You only need good physical condition and a positive attitude.

This is also a group experience, so you'll be sharing the journey with people who enjoy the same kind of outdoor activities and adventures, which usually makes the experience even more rewarding.

    Asked on November 13th, 2025

I am considering your Everything Starts at the End of the World group tour with March 8, 2026 departure. I read in your notes for this trip that tour leader is only assigned when there are 6 or more travelers in the group. Does this trip have 5 yet (with me making it 6) or more? And if so, can you give me an overview of those travelers (age, gender, American/other, etc)?

Our tour "Everything Starts at the End of the World," starting on March 8th, is already fully booked with 14 passengers. However, we still have available spaces on our February 8th departure, where we already have 6 passengers confirmed. Would it be possible for you to adjust your travel dates from March to February?

    • C

      Christine

      TravelerWritten November 2025

The tourradar site indicates there are spots remaining for the February 8th departure. Is that incorrect? I may be able to make February 8th work but its not ideal. Are there spots in the March 29th departure? Also, not ideal but may work.

    • People Travel and ExperienceOperatorWritten November 2025

Yes, we couldn't update the available seats for each departure as the status changes daily. However, I can confirm that we still have spaces available on the February 8th departure. The March 8th departure is fully booked for now, and the one starting on March 29th is not open yet, but we can open it with a minimum of 4 passengers.
