There is limited walking required as it is primarily touring by motor coach and on Day 5 there is a walking tour included. Participation is optional, guest are welcome to decline or check with Tour Director once on tour for waiting area.

The requested departure date is at capacity. We do have apace available on our October 15, 2025 departure. This tour is one of our Small Group Departures. There will only be a maximum of 24 guest on any of our departures. The age ranges from 5 years old to 80+. This tour is mildly challenging. A considerable amount of activity is required, you may need to climb full flights of stairs, navigate uneven terrain or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Are there options for pre- and post-accommodation?

We offer pre and post-night accommodations, but they must be booked independently.

What is the name of our hotel in Montecatini

Depending on the scheduled departure date, the hotels are not confirmed until 30 days prior to that departure. As of today we have Settentrionale Esplanade. This may change in the future.

Is it possible to customize the itinerary?

Itineraries can be discussed for potential modifications before booking.

What happens if the tour reaches maximum capacity?

We will not be able to request additional space if the tour is at capacity.

The start and end airport is Florence Peretola Airport.

This tour does require a moderate amount of walking. We do have our Italy's Best tour that is a little slower pace. This may work for your husband. If he is needing to bring a walker, cane or motorized scooter to help, he is allowed to bring them.

The hotel was charming, staff was attentive, and located well. Roberto, our tour guide exceeded all expectations. He was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive to needs of individual clients, as well as to the group as as a whole. Paola, who led the tour in Lucca, as also exceptional. I liked that the tour was based at a single hotel, with excursions radiating out from that point. Bonus to not have to be continually unpacking and repacking. Also liked that the tours were not "over-programed". Montecatini, was a delightful town, and it was fun to have time for individual exploration. i can't remember the tour originally advertised activity levels. There was one person in our group that struggled some physically, and probably should have been directed to a different tour. Again, Roberto did an amazing job to assure that her tour was delightful, while not holding back the rest of the group. Also thought it would be nice to have cold bottled water available for purchase on the coach - It was pretty hot during our stay. Highly recommend!!!Show more

  We would like to combine a walking tour with a cooking, maybe foraging, tour. We are experienced hikers and that is our priority. Actually being involved in the preparation of the cooking proses, is also part of our plan for May 2026. The cooking need not happen every day. The idea of sightseeing in the different towns, is very appealing.
