  Myself and my partner did the 17 day Vietnam tour during February 2026. Here's our honest review. Accommodation was ill thoughout in Hanoi. The written itinerary states the tour includes 17 nights hotel accommodation but we were told by Legend Travel Operations Manager : Danny Nguyen that we had to check out on day 2 prior to our 8am city tour and overnight train journey to Sapa. This meant we had no shower or Wasing facilities all day and all night until arriving at our hotel in Sapa the next day. It was the same in reverse on day 4 leaving Sapa and arriving back in Hanoi early morning on day 5. Following my complaint to Danny he did arrange for us to use one of the bathrooms for an hour to refresh ourselves, but he seemed to think that 32 hours without washing was fine and he made us feel like he was doing us a great favour!! The transfer from our hotel to the train station consisted of us being led by Danny on foot carrying our own luggage. Yes it's only 8 minutes but the cost of the trip included a transfer. All other internal flights and transfers were fine and the overnight boat trip around Halong Bay was a standout moment for us. We also wish to commend our guide in Sapa "Suz" who was brilliant in every way and made our 2 day visit to that area an unforgettable memory. The day excursions and city tours were not so good - yes you get to see a lot of sights but these are crammed in so you don't actually get very long in any one place. Also - the schedules for these excursions were never as per the written itineraries - they were always changed by the guides - most of whom have limited English language skills and were difficult to understand - not just by us but by everyone. For the Hanoi city tour our guide wanted to miss out the houses and gardens of the Ho Chi Minh complex all together saying it would take over 2 hours but our entire group of 7 people wanted to see them so he reluctantly took us. And guess what - it only took 40 minutes. He then went off schedule completely and took us to a lacquer factory offering products and souvenirs for sale (no doubt he gets a commission) and we were stuck there for nearly an hour while 1 couple capitulated over what to buy. Because of this we arrived at our last stop of the day "Hoa Lo Prison" just as it was closing! And on day 15 during our drive to the "Cu Chi Tunnels" we went off schedule again to guess what : another lacquer factory. This of course meant 45 minutes less time at the tunnels area and all it's fascinating historical sights. Overall our experience left us with mixed feelings. The 3 star hotels "Tk123" in Hanoi and "Sapa Luxury" in Sapa were both disappointing. Both had shabby run down rooms with dirt and mould in the bathrooms, dust on all the skirting boards, peeling wall paper, and water damage stains on the ceiling. Both hotels breakfast offerings were very poor and the coffee undrinkable - we ate out most days. The "Rosaleen Boutique" in Hue was clean and lived up to expectations, and we were upgraded on the "Phoenix Cruise" around Halong Bay so that was great. But the "Hoi An Garden Palace" was by far the best offering. Great room, great breakfast, great pool, and really welcoming helpful staff. Lastly the written itinerary states that All taxes and service charges are included in the tour price but then goes onto state tipping and gratuities are not. I always thought service charges are tips?? but every guide with the exception of "Shang" asked us for tips - even told us how much they expect us to give!! Needless to say we felt obligated and intimidated into doing so. Would we recommend this tour - No. For all the reasons outlined above we feel the tour didn't offer good value for money. The sightseeing (with the exception of Sapa) was rushed with little factual information offered. And we felt misled by the number of hotel nights included versus the actual number we got.Show more

We will be conducting an immediate inspection of these properties to ensure they maintain the quality our guests expect. Regarding the "17-night" count, we understand how the transition between overnight trains and hotels can be confusing, and we clearly need to improve how we facilitate "refresh" rooms for our guests during these gaps. Itinerary & Guides: It is disappointing to hear that some guides deviated from the scheduled itinerary to visit shopping centers. This is against our company policy, as your time should be spent at the historical sights you paid to see. We will be addressing this with our local guide teams in Hanoi and Saigon. Service Charges vs. Tipping: We apologize for the confusion. In the travel industry, "service charges" typically refer to hotel/restaurant administrative fees, while "tipping" is a personal gesture for guides and drivers. However, no guest should ever feel intimidated or pressured into tipping, and we will retrain our staff on this professional boundary. On a positive note, we are very happy that you enjoyed the Phoenix Cruise, the stay at Hoi An Garden Palace, and especially the service provided by Suz in Sapa. We will be sure to pass your praise along to her. Our Customer Care Department will contact you with the best discussion further to address your grievances and find a fair resolution regarding the discrepancies you experienced.   We just want to say one word "perfect"!!!! We are 4 Persons from Canada, first time to visit Asia. We were a little bit nervous before departure so we decided to book 17 Days & stayed in luxurious hotels because we didn`t know how hotels in Vietnam are good? To be honest, when we checked in hotel, it was unbelievable feeling while hotel is more luxurious than we thought! Everything was organised to perfection. The drivers, the guides and hotels were all very good and very punctual. I can strongly recommend this travel agency if you should go to Vietnam. They help you everywhere they can.Show more

  well organised, trustful business. We booked over 2 weeks Vietnam trip in August. We didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised straight after landing in Ha Noi. Our transfer to the hotel was ready, even the flight time was silly morning hours. Our guide was waiting for us at the hotel reception to help us to check in and take us through our daily holiday plan. All excursions and transfers were well organised and on time. Some guides were difficult to understand, English must be improved tho ;-). Big thank you to all excursion guides for their knowledge and passion of Vietnam history and future. Special thank you to Tom, he is really good guide! we got so much information about history and present life in Vietnam, we could tell how much he loves his country and wants to share it with the clients, we had amazing time. Big thank you to Hannah, our Hoi An guide. We loved every minute farming and cooking with her, she is great fun! One little minus was 2 last days in Danang. We still have no idea why Legend Travel Group sent us there freely????Show more

  Great booking and tour agenda fixing experience!!!! I was recommemded to use the tour arrangement service provided by this company by a friend who has returned from Vietnam. As a foreigner, my main consideration is to find a reliable agent which could provide excellent service at affordable price. The personal experience of my friend has convinced me. In fact, I have made a right choice. The contact person, Hien Bui, was really helpful and patient in accomodating my many round of enquiries, and changing the draft of itenary. My travel time was on the week of Christmas. My entire 5 days 4 night hotel accomodation, cruise, visit activities and 2way airport pickup were perfectly arranged. My original booking request was to stay overnight at the Alisa Cruise on the Christmas day. The rooms at Alisa Cruise were told to be available during the initial booking enquiry. However, after the long time taken to finalize the trip agenga, the rooms at Alisa were no longer available. I was really glad that Hien Bui has offered me an upgrade to the President Cruise at no extra cost! The experience on travelling to Halong bay, on boad the cruise and relevant activities were luxurious and excellent! During the many round of email exchange, Hien Bui also made recommemdations that help to improve my plan. Upon finalising the itenary, a link for payment of deposit. Upon payment of deposit, a well prepared documented itenary and instruction on where to meet the agent from company at the Hanoi airport were email to me. The remaining of payment were done upon arriving at the hotel. Can be a combination of cash and credit card. Overall, great service and keep it up!Show more
