How much are the recommended gratuities per person for the tour?

For 'Classic' groups, the recommended gratuity is approximately EUR 4.50 for drivers and EUR 7.00 for travel directors per day. For 'Small' groups, it's about EUR 5.00 for drivers and EUR 10.00 for travel directors per day.

Are there additional costs for city tours during the vacation?

Each day labeled 'visit' in our itineraries includes entry tickets where applicable. Optional experiences are available but not included in the base tour price, and can be booked through the Travel Director at the start of the tour.

What is the deposit requirement for the tours?

For 'Classic' groups, a deposit of $200/£100/€100/R3000 is required with full payment 60 days before departure. 'Small' groups require a $350/£200/€200/R5000 deposit and full payment 90 days before departure.

What are the differences between the Classic and Magical tours in Spain and Portugal?

The primary differences are group size, deposit levels, and included amenities such as prepaid gratuities. Both tours cover similar areas but may differ in terms of certain inclusions such as entrance fees.

Is insurance covered in the tour price?

Insurance is not included in the tour price. It's advisable to discuss insurance options with TourRadar or your insurance provider to ensure coverage for your trip.

Is it possible to customize an existing tour to suit my personal interests and dates?

Our standard tours are based on fixed itineraries and dates, and customization options are limited to ensure the best experience for all participants.

whilst they cover similar areas, there is a significant cost difference & am wondering what the key differences are. Is another difference tour size etc? Can you please let me know all of the key differences outside of what is listed on both brochures

Classic Groups: Average 33 guests and Max. 40 guests, Small Groups: Max. 24 guests. The only difference is the group size, deposit level, prepaid gratuities and the cost of the trip.

This was our first ever coach tour. It was everything we hoped for and more. Insight was wonderful. Our local guide, Lola, was great, very knowledgeable and well organized. Local guides were also very knowledgeable. We had a great group of people from many countries and nationalities, who blended very nicely. Hotels and locations and breakfasts were terrific. Able to go on our own rather than extra optional tours was wonderful for us, freedom to explore. Many Facebook friends were made and email contacts were shared. Thank you Insight for a wonderful Spain and Portugal trip.Show more

Excursion to Fatima is unsuitable for a tour like this. It should only be provided as an extra excursion for people to choose. Unless you were of the Roman Catholic religion it is boring and unacceptable. Bexause of the whole day wasted at Fatima there was insufficient time to explore Salamanca as the cathedral was closed by the time we arrived.. I wanted to explore this UNESCO town very much. We left Salamanca the next morning at 8.30, so too early to walk down to the cathedral which did not open until til 10 am.Show more

I traveled in May 2019 on the Amazing Spain and Portugal tour - my first ever motor coach tour and first ever trip as a solo female traveler. It was fantastic! It was better than I could have hoped for. The tour director, Paddy Davis, and bus driver, Bruno, were absolutely terrific. I can't says enough good things about them. They were exceptional! Paddy was fun, enthusiastic, organized, knowledgeable, and took care of every detail. He was always upbeat and took care of all the endless details of coordinating 40 people on a trek across 2 countries. He was always available to answer any type of question. I could go on and on about how good he was. If there were any hiccups in the trip we were never aware. He worked tirelessly to make our trip seamless, Bruno was a wonderful driver, so pleasant and professional. He was never was fazed by the highways, driving in the cities that were jam-packed with tourist buses and tourists, or on narrow winding Portugal country roads. I never heard him honk the horn once. He was always on time to meet the group. He cleaned the coach every night after driving us around all day, down to the hubcaps. The coach, by the way was extremely comfortable and immaculate, thanks to Bruno. The hotels were gorgeous, the rooms were up-date and beds were comfortable, the food and tours were wonderful, and the optional tours were well-chosen. I highly recommend doing the optional tours as they really enhanced the overall experience and were good value for what was provided. I like the fact that a description of the optional tours was provided before the trip so you could do a little research before-hand, although Paddy explained them all in detail at the start of the trip. The optional tours were also not pushed on anyone so people that wanted to spend time doing their own touring, meals, etc were able to do so, and Paddy was always willing to help with suggestions of things to do or places to go during those times. I could go on and on, but overall I had a great time and can't wait to do another Insight tour.Show more

The coach was spacious and had good air conditioning. Elena was our tour guide and she was very accommodating and humorous (she really didn't like gypsies and had many stories about them). My favourite part of the trip was the day tour of Lisbon with Laura, the local guide. I have to say, the meals included didn't taste very good (except the hotel breakfasts, which was great). You're better off finding your own meals. The accommodation is pretty good but the hotel in Salamanca is TERRIBLE due to the elevator having the tendency to blackout and the creepy flickering lights throughout the hotel. If you go with this tour I recommend everyone to pay for the Lisbon day tour excursion. You'll get to see Sintra and Cascais, which were places I wouldn't have even given a thought about to if I were to plan my own trip. Show more

This tour certainly ticked all the boxes! The accommodation was always of a high standard and within walking distance of the city centre. The highlights for me was the Alhambra Palace and the Flamenco Show. I did also take most of the optional excursions and the one that stood out for me was Cordoba, this really is a unique place and would recommend to anyone who is travelling to Spain for the first time. The Tour Director, Heather Hand, was also fantastic. She had a great sense of humour, had so much knowledge on history and geography of the region and was extremely organised.... I could not fault her in any way. I enjoyed every minute of this tour and can't wait to travel with Insight again. Show more
