I booked and paid for an Intrepid tour for two of Vietnam. The tour was Feb 2020 and the Covid pandemic was just starting to blossom. The writing was on the wall with Covid but they would not cancel the trip and despite numerous attempts by myself and my agent they would not even consider any kind of compensation, even “in kind” credit for the future. I cancelled and took a full loss. There was never ever even a response from them. Not long thereafter they stopped tour, but not until they had to. The are rude, self serving and inconsiderate of your safety. Intrepid is all about Intrepid, not about you the client.Show more

Although a delayed review, this trip has honestly left a long lasting impression on me 1 year later! The Indochina highlights as the trip was called in 2017 exceeded my expectations and couldn't have introduced me to south-east Asia in any other way. I travelled on this trip as an apprehensive 19 year-old solo traveller, however this was no problem whatsoever as the group was fantastic! From all 4 corners of the world we all got on so well. The Bangkok to Ho-Chi Minh group consisted of 5 of us altogether and Ho Chi Minh-Hanoi 8, and led many of us to become great friends. Our guide for the first part of the trip was Sareth, who was amazing. He introduced us to some great local spots as well as guiding us to the unmissable ones. The 2nd leg of the trip, Ho Chi Minh-Hanoi was filled with so much adventure and fun. Hanh our Vietnam leader was fantastic and was both an exceptional guide and a good friend. One year later i still think of this trip and how it couldn't have gone any better. The biggest pros are the small group sizes making it more a group of friends rather than a tour group. A fast-paced, action-packed and amazing month! Our guide in Cambodia, Channa, was an absolute legend! She was clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the history, culture, and politics of Cambodia; there was no question she didn't know the answer to! She made us all feel safe and at ease in an unfamiliar country and made the Cambodia leg a total dream. It should be noted that this is not a trip for the faint of heart (don't expect to get 8 hours of sleep a night), but the accomodation was always (pretty much) comfortable, and there were plenty of activity options to suit everyone's preferences. Good mix between doing stuff with the group and doing our own thing. All in all a great experience!Show more
