This review is completely false and contains inaccurate information! Accommodations: The list of hostels was sent to the client by email weeks in advance prior to the tour. He had enough time to revise the info and raise any concerns he might have had including the possibility to upgrade. Nothing was done from his side! We would like to clarify that the hostels used are part of important hostel chains in Italy which offer high standards for budget accommodations. If you are not an hostel person, online you also have the option to book a different type of accommodation. Transportation: The tour is conducted by fast speed train between cities and all train tickets were provided and included in the tour package! Walking: All the cities which are pedestrians can be easily visited by foot and all the orientation walks included in the itinerary had the of length of 3 hours. Rome, which is a bigger city with more things to visit, have a length of 4h max with multiple stops for photos. Guides: We have no record whatsoever in 20 years of activity about guides being late 40 minutes which is absurd. This can be proved anyway with our daily log. Social Media: We have a dedicated team for all our guests during the tour which can be contacted to the dedicated whatsapp number, phone and email provided to the clients. The social media managers are not in charge or informed about the operation of a tour. Even though this client was informed, he continued using the wrong channel to have answers. Overall Experience: Regarding us we are sorry if his expectations where different but the whole team supported him for the entire week with absurd complaints by also offering free of charge non due upgrades which obviously have not been appreciated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience on the 7-day tour of Italy! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the fantastic hostels, seamless logistics, and stress-free planning. Our goal is always to let travelers focus on enjoying the trip. We’re also so happy to hear that Ned and Marie made your journey memorable. Ned’s knowledge and helpfulness in Rome and Florence, and Marie’s care and guidance during Cinque Terre and Venice, really make a difference, and we’ll be sure to pass along your kind words. We understand that connecting with other travelers is an important part of the experience. Group sizes naturally vary depending on who books each departure, which can sometimes mean a smaller or more intimate group. Many guests still enjoy meeting people along the way, while also benefiting from the ease and support our tours provide. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We’re glad you had a good experience overall and hope to welcome you on another Italian adventure soon! ????????✨

    • Italy on a Budget ToursOperatorWritten April 2025

The tour you mentioned is primarily designed for travelers aged 18 to 39, as the accommodation is mostly in shared hostel rooms. That said, we are not very strict with the age limit — travelers over 39 are always welcome as long as they are young at heart and comfortable with walking. However, please note that this specific tour runs only from April to October. We do offer another wonderful tour with a very similar itinerary, called 'My First Italian Adventure', which is available year-round, including the winter months. This tour is open to travelers of all ages, includes accommodation in centrally located hotels, and features a few additional inclusions for an even richer experience.

Our package includes accommodation unless you choose the "tour only" option. As for meals, we include a welcome dinner in Rome and a welcome aperitivo in Florence. Other meals are not included unless otherwise specified, but not to worry, our guides are always happy to recommend local and affordable spots for delicious food throughout your trip. Accommodation is arranged in a mix of hostels and B&Bs, and we offer both shared and private options, depending on your preference. We work with top-rated, centrally located partners such as Yellow, Meininger, Plus, Anda, and others.

    Age Range
    Tour Details
    • Italy on a Budget ToursOperatorWritten February 2025

The group age for this tour is 18-39 as it's designed for students and backpackers mostly, offering a fast-paced itinerary and budget accommodation in shared or twin shared rooms at hostels. While we're happy to welcome guests of all ages who are young at heart, we'd like to highlight that the itinerary involves a lot of walking and has a more adventurous spirit, which some older travelers may find challenging. For a more relaxed alternative, I'd love to recommend another tour of ours, Your First Italian Adventure. This tour is open to adults of all age groups and visits the same beautiful destinations as the original tour you were considering. However, it offers additional inclusions, such as a Welcome Dinner, for example, and centrally located accommodations in hotels and B&Bs.

  • M

    Melanie

    Asked on February 4th, 2025

was looking at spending 3 days each in Rome, Florence and Venice, are there any tour extensions for lack of a better phrase?

    Tour Details
    • Italy on a Budget ToursOperatorWritten February 2025

This tour includes: 2 nights in Rome, 4 nights in Florence, 1 night in Venice. If you'd like to extend your stay, we can arrange extra nights in Rome and Venice before and after the tour to give you more time to explore. You can choose to explore independently, or we'd be happy to help organize activities and experiences to make the most of your time in each destination.
