Regarding gluten-free dietary requirement, we can certainly submit a request for gluten-free meals. However, please note that while Trafalgar does accommodate dietary needs whenever possible, final availability depends on each hotel and meal provider along the route, so we're unable to guarantee this in advance. This tour also includes some wonderful culinary experiences, such as: • A visit to a historic acetaia in Modena to enjoy aged balsamic vinegar as part of a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. • A home-cooked regional meal with the Serenelli family at their countryside farm.

Does the northern Italy lakes and countryside include mantua

Regrettably, this tour does not include Mantua in its itinerary. If you have personal plans during the trip, you may try to coordinate them directly with the Travel Director while on tour.

Any idea what time the tour gets back to Milan on the 8th. We have a River cruise leaving from Amsterdam on the 10th May, so would need to fly there on the 8th or 9th to make sure we arrive in time

The tour returns to Milan on Day 8 (08 May 2026) at approximately 10:30 AM. Milan and Amsterdam travel time via air takes approximately 1 hour, 32 minutes. A complimentary transfer will be provided on the final day, arriving at Malpensa International Airport (MXP) at 07:30 and again at 10:30.

A great trip in all respects. Thank you, Sarah. There was one aspect prior to the trip itself that we were not happy about....... We were unable to get a flight into Milan Malpensa Airport on the arrival day and could only get an early flight into Milan Bergamo Airport. We contacted you twice the month before and on being told a pick up from Bergamo Airport was not possible requested that we could get to Malpensa Airport ourselves and thus meet your pick up to Baveno. We were refused and were told only passengers with air tickets to Malpensa were eligible. As a result we were left with a very difficult and stressful and costly day especially as there was a train strike. To make matters worse, on arrival at Baveno, we found that a number of other people on the tour who had not flown in to Malpensa Airport had gone out to the airport byway and were able to get the shuttle to Baveno. We feel that your decision to exclude us from the Malpensa to Baveno shuttle was unreasonable and very disappointing especially in the light of the fact that we were penalised when we had tried to be honest and responsible about our transfer problem.
