Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Paiya

    You'll catch an early flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, which takes about 40 minutes and sets you up for your trek. Once you land, you'll head out on the first trek to Paiya. The lodge takes care of lunch and dinner, so you can focus on settling in and adjusting to the altitude.

  2. Day 2

    Paiya to Pangom

    Today's trek takes you through lush rhododendron and bamboo forests with the Dudh Koshi valley opening up around you. You'll make your way to Pangom, a traditional Sherpa village where you can see how locals live in these mountains. Full meals are provided at the lodge.

    Pangom to Ningsow

    Ningsow to Makalu Barun National Park

    Now you're entering Makalu Barun National Park on what turns out to be a longer trek day. The views of Mera Peak and Salpa are really good from here, and if you're lucky, you might spot Red Pandas in the forest. The lodge provides all meals.

    Kothe to Thaknak

    Your trek spans 3 to 4 hours and takes you above 4000m/13,123 feet elevation. Along the way, you'll pass the 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gumba before reaching Thaknak. The lodge handles all your meals for the day.
