Itinerary
- Day 1
Puerto Maldonado to Amazon Lodge
A boat picks you up from Puerto Maldonado Airport and takes you down the Madre de Dios River to your lodge tucked into the jungle. Once you arrive and get settled, lunch happens at the lodge. After eating, you can walk the trails around the property to look for birds and get a feel for how the rainforest works. When evening comes around, you'll head out on a motorized canoe to see what animals come out at night and check out the stars before heading back for dinner.

Landmarks Madre de Dios River - Day 2
Tambopata National Reserve and Canopy Walk
Get breakfast early then trek into Tambopata National Reserve heading toward Lake Sandoval. You'll paddle across the oxbow lake in a dugout canoe watching for giant river otters, macaws, monkeys, and caimans. After lunch back at the lodge, there's a canopy walk where you climb up 98-foot towers and cross 7 hanging bridges through the treetops. If time and weather cooperate, an anaconda walk might happen too. The day wraps up with a nighttime rainforest walk to spot nocturnal creatures, then dinner at the lodge.

- 200-meter wooden bridge walk over swamps to learn about flooded ecosystem fauna and flora
- Nocturnal rainforest excursion to observe nocturnal animals and behaviors

- Day 3
Amazon Lodge to Puerto Maldonado Airport
Breakfast comes first, then you take a motorized canoe back to Puerto Maldonado. You'll stop at the Butterfly House while you wait for your flight, and there's a chance to visit if you want to learn more about butterflies. From there it's a short trip to the airport so you can catch your departing flight.
