Unfortunately, the tour you are looking at is a tour specifically designed for our 18 - 39 year old travellers. As you don't fit within that age bracket we won't be able to book you on this trip.

  • E

    Edward

    Asked on January 12th, 2026

We're interested in the Thailand tours but they say ages up to 39 and we're mid 60's. Would that be possible or do we need to be under 40.

    Age Range
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

You're absolutely right that some of the Thailand itineraries you may have seen fall under the 18–Thirtysomethings travel style, which is strictly limited to travellers aged 18–39. Unfortunately, those particular tours wouldn't be suitable for travellers in their mid-60s.

That said, the great news is that G Adventures offers several other Thailand tour styles with no upper age limit, which are often a better fit for travellers looking for a comfortable pace, rich cultural experiences, and small-group travel. These include:

Classic / Small Group Tours – open to all travellers aged 18+, offering a balance of sightseeing, culture, and activities
National Geographic Journeys – a more immersive and comfortable style with excellent accommodation and deeper cultural insight
Other Thailand itineraries that explore similar destinations without age restrictions

Once I book a date, can I change it to different dates based on the cheapest flight?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2025

We have terms and conditions in place which outline our cancellation policy. Changing dates would be cancelling, and then re booking.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2025

The booking terms and conditions are as follows: Up to 30th day prior to departure: Your 20% non-refundable deposit is saved on your file as Lifetime Deposit towards a future tour. From 29th day to 3rd day prior to departure: 70% of travel fare becomes non-refundable: 50% cancellation fee + 20% Lifetime deposit. From 2nd day prior to departure up to departure day or in case of no show: 95% of travel fare becomes non-refundable: 75% cancellation fee + 20% Lifetime Deposit. We recommend to look into travel insurance coverage to recoup non-refundable fees.

What is the recommended baggage weight to take on this trip? Are we allowed all baggage types (carry on, check in bag)?

    Transport
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten August 2025

There is a weight restriction for the internal flight and trains on this tour. Each passenger is allowed to carry one checked bag with a maximum weight of 20kg (44lbs). Additional bags or excess weight charges may apply. We generally recommend backpacks rather than suitcases if possible.

Could you please confirm the group size? Could you please confirm the group's age (approximatively)? Could I know more about where we'll be staying during the nights? Could you tell me what you would recommand to someone so they can enjoy this trip? What should they be prepared for?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2025

The maximum group size for this trip is 18, so far on your chosen date we have 5 travellers booked. They are born in the 1990s and early 2000s, mix of males and females and a mix of solo travellers and a couple/pair of friends. Accommodation will be as follows: Simple hotels (twin-share) (14 nts), hostels (multi-share) (9 nts), sleeper trains (4 nts) homestays (2 nts). A variety of styles of hotels/guest houses are used on this trip. In many instances they might not be like what you are used to back home as service and efficiency can vary. In some areas we stay in simple local guest houses in stunning locations - rooms are small and simple and there may only be shared toilet facilities and showers.

This tour forms part of our Classic tours, which is a standard services level. Our itineraries, and hotels are set. Should you wish for upgraded service level, I would recommend looking at the National Geographic or Geluxe trip styles.

For different VISA, I can take it during the travel or I must take it before the departure?

    Visa
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten April 2025

Visa and Border Entry Requirements: Visas and entry requirements are the responsibility of the traveller. Generally, Thailand: Most nationalities do not need a visa for Thailand for stays of 30 days or less. Vietnam: Visas need to be arranged ahead of time (BEFORE your trip). Laos: Check E-Visa eligibility. Cambodia: Visas can be obtained on arrival or in advance.

I'm French, so I only need to take visa for LAOS before departure? And for my luggage, how does it work? Is it better if I take a large bag or a suitcase? Given that we'll be moving around regularly.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten April 2025

Yes you will need a Laos Visa. As for luggage there are some weight restrictions for internal flights and trains max weight limit is 20KG. It is ideal to travel with a checked bag sized bag as it is easier to transport around.
