    What would be essential packing items that I should bring for the tour, especially for the jungle stay in Tambopata? For example, would I need to bring my own headlamp, binoculars, or dark-colored clothing (for the night search on Day 17), toilet paper (in a plastic bag), or hand sanitizer?

    The Absolute Peru itinerary includes many of Peru's highlights; however: Maras Salt Mines – Not included in the standard itinerary. Moray – Not included in the standard itinerary. Macaw Clay Lick (Amazon) – Yes, the tour includes time in the Amazon region where you may have the opportunity to witness wildlife, including macaws at a clay lick (wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed). Humantay Lake – Not included in this specific itinerary.

    For travel to/from Machu Picchu, the standard train service included on the tour is typically the Expedition class train operated by PeruRail (subject to availability). The Vistadome train is not automatically included.

    For your Amazon stay in the Tambopata region, I recommend bringing: Lightweight, breathable clothing. Long sleeves and long pants (especially for evening wildlife walks). Neutral/dark-coloured clothing for night excursions. Strong insect repellent. Sunscreen and hat. Small daypack. Reusable water bottle. Hand sanitizer (recommended). Headlamp or small flashlight (very useful for night walks). Personal medications. Binoculars are optional but highly recommended if you enjoy wildlife viewing. Toilet paper is usually available at lodges, but carrying a small personal supply in a plastic bag can be helpful while in transit or on excursions.

    Lima Cooking Class - 79 USD. Cusco Cooking Class - 46 USD. You will be cooking a Peruvian dish in the cooking classes that will contain meat. If you do not eat beef we would need to note it as a dietary restriction on your booking and notify the local team. You would be accommodated.

    We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage.

    The train ride and Machu Picchu tickets are included in the tour price and organised by our local team once the tour is confirmed. We do not offer a longer train ride or boat tour to the Ballestras Islands. If you wish to do so, you will need to sign off on the tour, and book all excursions at your own expense.

    Regarding arrival time, you can arrive at any time on day 1. The welcome meeting will be between 5 and 7 pm. Should you wish to join, I would recommend arriving before that.

    Yes when confirming the booking you will select the Machu Picchu by train option which does no hiking and explores a bit of the sacred valley instead.

    Up to 30th day prior to departure: Your 20% non-refundable deposit is saved on your file as Lifetime Deposit towards a future tour with G Adventures. From 29th day to 3rd day prior to departure: 70% of travel fare becomes non-refundable: 50% cancellation fee + 20% Lifetime deposit. From 2nd day prior to departure up to departure day or in case of no show : 95% of travel fare becomes non-refundable: 75% cancellation fee + 20% Lifetime Deposit.

    We are looking for a tour from La Paz to Lima. We can walk, but we are not Hikers, and the Inka trail does not interest us. We would like to see, more or less, in this order: La Paz (Arequipa), Sucre, Salt Plain, Puno, Lake Titikaka, Cuzco, Machu Pichu, Rainbow Mountain and Lima. We are happy to catch planes if this means skipping hours of the bus with not much to see, and Train (really interested in train from Puno to Cuzco).
