Could you please let me know the costs of all the optional activities in the tour? In particular, I'd like to find out the costs (in Canadian or USD) for the: Ballestas Island Wildlife Tour; Flight over the Nazca lines; Arequipa City Tour; Santa Catalina Monastery; Rainbow Mountain Hike (which ones will we visit on Days 11 & 17?); and Ollantaytambo Storehouses.

    • A

      Adam

      TravelerWritten February 2026

What would be essential packing items that I should bring for the tour, especially for the jungle stay in Tambopata? For example, would I need to bring my own headlamp, binoculars, or dark-colored clothing (for the night search on Day 17), toilet paper (in a plastic bag), or hand sanitizer?

    • A

      Adam

      TravelerWritten February 2026

Since not all meals will be included in the tour, how much in Peruvian Sol should I budget per meal?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

The Absolute Peru itinerary includes many of Peru's highlights; however: Maras Salt Mines – Not included in the standard itinerary. Moray – Not included in the standard itinerary. Macaw Clay Lick (Amazon) – Yes, the tour includes time in the Amazon region where you may have the opportunity to witness wildlife, including macaws at a clay lick (wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed). Humantay Lake – Not included in this specific itinerary.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

The tour visits Vinicunca (also known as the classic Rainbow Mountain), not Palccoyo.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

The advertised price of $4,724 CAD: Includes the tour cost and applicable taxes. Does not include tips for the Chief Experience Officer (CEO) and local guides (tipping is optional but customary). Does not include international flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, or optional activities. Tipping drivers and local guides would range from $5-10 USD per day depending on the quality and length of the service; ask your CEO for specific recommendations based on the circumstances and culture.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

Most optional activities can be booked: In advance (recommended for high-demand activities), or Directly during the tour through your CEO, subject to availability. Cut-off times vary by activity and supplier. For activities like Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), these are typically arranged locally and confirmed early in the tour. Ballestas Island Wildlife Tour - USD20. Flight over the Nazca lines - USD122. Arequipa City Tour - USD45. Rainbow Mountain Hike - USD50 (you visit the same ones however it is on different dates to provide travellers the flexibility of extension in the start or end of tour).

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

For travel to/from Machu Picchu, the standard train service included on the tour is typically the Expedition class train operated by PeruRail (subject to availability). The Vistadome train is not automatically included.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

For your Amazon stay in the Tambopata region, I recommend bringing: Lightweight, breathable clothing. Long sleeves and long pants (especially for evening wildlife walks). Neutral/dark-coloured clothing for night excursions. Strong insect repellent. Sunscreen and hat. Small daypack. Reusable water bottle. Hand sanitizer (recommended). Headlamp or small flashlight (very useful for night walks). Personal medications. Binoculars are optional but highly recommended if you enjoy wildlife viewing. Toilet paper is usually available at lodges, but carrying a small personal supply in a plastic bag can be helpful while in transit or on excursions.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

For meals not included in the tour, a comfortable estimate is USD500-650.

    • A

      Adam

      TravelerWritten February 2026

What would be the costs for Lima Cooking Class and Cusco Cooking Class? Do you know what dish we'll be cooking, since I don't eat beef?

    • A

      Adam

      TravelerWritten February 2026

What would be the cost for 1-Day Inca Trail Hike? Would I need to bring my own sleeping bag or could my Porter carry it?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

Lima Cooking Class - 79 USD. Cusco Cooking Class - 46 USD. You will be cooking a Peruvian dish in the cooking classes that will contain meat. If you do not eat beef we would need to note it as a dietary restriction on your booking and notify the local team. You would be accommodated.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

1-Day Inca Trail Hike - 299 USD (You can rent a sleeping bag 45 soles in destination).

    • A

      Adam

      TravelerWritten February 2026

What would be the specific maximum weight and dimension of luggage allowed for the tour?

    • A

      Adam

      TravelerWritten February 2026

Would the 'Cusco City Tour' include access to Sacsayhuaman, South Valley of Cusco, and Sacred Valley of the Incas?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten March 2026

We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten March 2026

On the Cusco city tour you can visit Qenqo, Koricancha, the Cathedral, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and the archaeological site of Sacsaywaman.

We will arrive Lima at 19:10 in the evening at the 21.3.26. Is this a problem?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

The train ride and Machu Picchu tickets are included in the tour price and organised by our local team once the tour is confirmed. We do not offer a longer train ride or boat tour to the Ballestras Islands. If you wish to do so, you will need to sign off on the tour, and book all excursions at your own expense.

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

Regarding arrival time, you can arrive at any time on day 1. The welcome meeting will be between 5 and 7 pm. Should you wish to join, I would recommend arriving before that.

I took out travel cancellation insurance with my insurance company. This would apply in the same case, wouldn't it?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

Travel medical insurance is mandatory. Our minimum required insurance policy coverage for medical expenses, evacuation, and repatriation benefits when combined together is 200,000 USD per traveller (or equivalent in other currency). Please ensure your insurance covers the minimum

      TravelerWritten January 2025

We are looking for a tour from La Paz to Lima. We can walk, but we are not Hikers, and the Inka trail does not interest us. We would like to see, more or less, in this order: La Paz (Arequipa), Sucre, Salt Plain, Puno, Lake Titikaka, Cuzco, Machu Pichu, Rainbow Mountain and Lima. We are happy to catch planes if this means skipping hours of the bus with not much to see, and Train (really interested in train from Puno to Cuzco).

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2025

You can opt to stay in Cusco and visit Machu Picchu by train.
