  Is Costa Rica hiking friendly? If yes, do you also offer hiking itineraries?

    We don't offer any customised tours, but we can run one of the tours selected from our website as a private departure for your group. Typical private group size is 8 or more. For most of our departures the minimum number of people required to run a private departure is 8 (with some exceptions). We can make some enhancements to some of our tours, but there are limitations and restrictions. If you don't meet the minimum of 8 travellers, we suggest to book on a public departure. Our public departures do not require a minimum number of travellers to run as we offer these as guaranteed departures. For private departures for groups with less than 8 passengers, the price will increase as the group size decreases.

  Is the hotel used on the 1st and 8th night still Hotel El Sesteo? I'm a solo female traveller and have read reviews saying this hotel is run down and in an area which is not safe for women on their own.

  Are most of the activities and daily excursions included in the price? We have been on a G Adventures trip to Peru before. Breakfasts were included with the hotel each morning. Is breakfast not included in this package?

    There is 1 Lunch meal included in the tour price. The day to day activities are included, apart from the optional activities. The trip will proceed as per usual on Christmas Day.

    It will depend on the hotel. If they serving breakfast that you can pay for additionally then you do have the option to get some.

    I want to make sure that most daily activities and excursions are included in the price. I know there will be some special add ons but I want to make sure. Some companies have a price close your yours but you have to pay extra for activities every single day.

    All of the key highlights and included activities listed in the itinerary are covered in the tour price, so you won't be expected to pay extra for excursions every day.
    
    There are a few optional activities available if you'd like to add to your experience, but these are entirely optional. The tour is designed so you'll still enjoy a full experience without feeling pressured to spend more.

  Do you not supply breakfast in your hotels? Only one lunch included?

    The tour does not offer breakfasts at the hotels for many reasons. Many do not offer a breakfast in their night stays or offer a buffet breakfast included. If there is that you wish to have breakfast at the hotels, we recommend arranging this when checking in.

    We do have a minimum age requirement of 12+ on this trip. We do have our Costa Rica Family Experience that has a minimum age of 6+, so that may be an option for you.

  We are 2 families. Each family consist of 2 adults and 2 kids ages 15 and 17. We would like to first go to Manuel Antonio, then to Monteverde, then to Arenal. We prefer 4 stars (or higher) hotels. Also, some activities at each area. We would like to stay at Tabacon Thermal resort at lease 2 nights. Can you give us an estimate for a tour? including stay, transportation, and activities.

    As this is a Classic trip with no age restriction the ages do vary depending on the date. For 4 June there are 4 travellers booked born in the 50' and 70's.

    Most activities still continue in the rain, however the tour leader would communicate with the group and you vote if you want to do it or not. Most cases it can be moved as well.

    Our cancellation policy is below: Up to 30th day prior to departure: Your 20% non-refundable deposit is saved on your file as Lifetime Deposit towards a future tour with G Adventures. From 29th day to 3rd day prior to departure: 70% of travel fare becomes non-refundable: 50% cancellation fee + 20% Lifetime deposit. From 2nd day prior to departure up to departure day or in case of no show: 95% of travel fare becomes non-refundable: 75% cancellation fee + 20% Lifetime Deposit

    We take reviews into consideration when choosing our hotels. That being said, some might not experience the hotels the same as others. All of our hotels are centrally located for convenience as well as comfortable. Should you wish to stay elsewhere, you will forfeit this service and we won't be able to offer a discounted rate. You will need to source and confirm your own hotel at your own expense since this is our trusted supplier.

    Credit cards and debit cards are very useful for cash advances. Visa cards are the most widely accepted cards. While ATMs are widely available, there are no guarantees that your credit or debit cards will actually work in Latin America. Check with your bank. You should be aware that to purchase products or services on a credit card a fee of 5%-10% usually applies. Do not rely on credit or debit cards as your only source of money. A combination of US dollars cash and cards is best. Always take more rather than less, as you don't want to spoil the trip by constantly feeling short of funds.

    The tour and dates you are interested in are currently on a request basis. This means that once you proceed with the booking, we will need to submit a request to confirm availability.
    
    This process typically takes 3–4 business days, however, for destinations such as Japan, Europe, Turkey, and Roamies trips, it may take 5–10 business days. During this time, we work to confirm all components of your tour package, including (but not limited to) accommodation, activities, and transport.
    
    While we always aim to confirm your booking within these timeframes, there may occasionally be delays depending on supplier responses.
    
    If availability is confirmed, your booking will be secured and fully confirmed.
    If availability is not confirmed, any pre-authorised funds will be fully refunded.
    
    Please note that once the request process has been initiated, it cannot be interrupted or cancelled, and cancelling during this period will not entitle you to a refund.
    
    Also during the request process, we ask to not book flights until we advise if the tour is confirmed.
