  Extremely Disappointing Experience – Our Cruise Was Ruined Our experience was extremely disappointing. Out of the 10 nights we were supposed to spend cruising, we actually sailed for only 3 nights. We missed several scheduled destinations and spent an enormous amount of time on buses instead of enjoying the river cruise we had paid for. What was supposed to be a relaxing and memorable vacation turned into an exhausting and frustrating experience. The trip was essentially ruined. We fully understand that low water levels are beyond the cruise operator's control. However, we believe the company should take responsibility for the fact that the services we paid for were largely not delivered. Under these circumstances, we believe a refund of 50–60% would be fair and reasonable. Instead, we were offered approximately 16%, which we consider completely inadequate. To make matters worse, even this modest refund has not yet appeared on my credit card account. We are extremely disappointed with both the cruise experience and the way our complaint has been handled. We expected much better from TourRadar and the cruise operator.Show more

  This cruise was disappointing overall. We did not have the relaxing ride down the river we hoped for. We understood the problem, and the alternate plan didn't look bad on paper, but was poorly executed, not well thought out. The director person was over stressed and not kind to the oldest passengers, and us on one occasion. We regret continuing on this cruise instead of rescheduling for the next year.Show more

  Difficult to know if you are asking about Tour Radar specifically or Luftner the cruise company. I have a lot to say about the cruise company whose strategy to manage the low Danube river level favoured the company at the expense of their customers. In relation to Tour Radar my only feedback would be 1: 48 hours to answer questions via email is too long and no phone contact a negative. 2: I found it a challenge when multiple operators as assigned to answer email queries. Past conversations are not always followed leading to misinterpretations and frustration in trying to get issues resolved or questions answered. If possible I would suggest allocating clients to a team member. 3: Lastly, I booked for 4 persons however I was not able to separate the party to resolve their own queries. I had to make contact and progress their needs. I would suggest a system where each individual can make enquires and be assisted without it falling g into the initial person booking.Show more

  This tour was a wonderful experience. TourRadar -- which has already worked to improve a clunky communication system -- has connections to more tours and a greater variety of tours than any other agency, and their easy instalment system was a great convenience. The tour we chose with Lüftner Amadeus on the Eastern Danube is the only one that goes all the way to the Black Sea and therefore takes ten days to get to Vienna rather than the competition's week. The ship is luxurious, the food is exquisite, the service spoils you, and the itineraries and tour guides in the spots we visited were all first rate. Days in the Danube Delta, on the Black Sea, and cruising the Kazan Gorge / Iron Gates were standouts. (We added several days on our own in marvelous Bucharest and Vienna to fill out another week).Show more

  Thoroughly enjoyed the itinerary, food, service, associated hotel and of course the Amadeus ship, Cara. Ensure you take appropriate layers to accommodate October temperatures, particularly for the Danube delta trip. The tour provides a brief taste of each of 6 countries' cultures and histories - for possible choice returns. I can't think of anything to be a little critical of relative to our journey and the service received.Show more

  I enjoyed it over all. Something I didn’t appreciate was the way the excursions were offered before the tour. In order to do the ones I wanted, I ended up having to take too many. It was exhausting for me and I ended up getting sick. Shorter afternoon only tours would be better.Show more
