You'll arrive in Porto and have time to walk around the city on your own before heading to the ship by 5 pm. Once on board, the evening includes a scenic sail where you can see Porto from the water, followed by dinner and a chance to settle into your cabin and get oriented.

- Day 2
Porto - Braga - Guimarães
Pick between two experiences today. One option is a guided tour of Porto itself, a UNESCO site, where you'll see Matosinhos and Avenida da Boavista with its modern art and historic buildings. Your other choice takes you to Braga to explore Celtic history, plus the castle and San Miguel church in Guimarães, also UNESCO-listed. By evening, there's a Fado music performance with local musicians right on the ship.

Peso da Régua - Pinhão
The Douro Valley opens up with several ways to spend your time. You can visit one of the region's oldest wine farms for a personal tour and tasting with the owner, take a wine painting class with a local artist, or do a guided walk through Lamego to see the famous cathedral. Later you'll sail briefly to Pinhão, a small riverside town worth exploring. There's also an option to visit a traditional olive-oil mill if you want to learn more about the area.

Pocinho - Barca d'Alva
The ship reaches Pocinho in the Terra Quente region with several activities to choose from. You might take a tile painting workshop with a professional, go kayaking through the Douro River valley, visit a historic vineyard for wine tasting, or attend an onboard Portuguese language and culture workshop. That evening, a live Flamenco show with local performers happens on board.

Barca d'Alva - Ferradosa
Today brings three different guided options. One takes you to Freixo de Espada à Cinta, a remote village in the Douro International Natural Park known for birds of prey. Another option is Castelo Rodrigo, a medieval village on a hilltop with views toward Spain and the valley. Or you can spend the full day in Salamanca, Spain, seeing its Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, and Plateresque architecture. Evening entertainment happens on the ship.

After that, choose between visiting a wine estate to taste Vinho Verde or taking a guided tour of Casa de Mateus to taste Mateus Rosé. Live entertainment rounds out the evening on board.

In the afternoon, you can visit a family cork and barrel factory, join a food tour, or simply wander Porto's old streets, shops, and tapas bars before experiencing the city's nightlife.
