Bari to Vieste
Your guide meets you at Bari airport or train station, then it's about an hour's drive south to Vieste. Once you check in at your hotel, spend the afternoon walking through the old town with its narrow cobblestone streets and white-washed buildings. Vieste
This morning you'll head out on a boat trip through the sea caves along the Gargano coast. You'll paddle or motor through natural stone arches, slide into hidden caves, and see water so clear it's almost unreal. After lunch, you've got the afternoon free. Some people hit the beach to relax, while others keep exploring the towns and beaches nearby on their own schedule.

Vieste to Trani
A private car picks you up and takes you south toward Trani, but there are two stops along the way. First is San Giovanni Rotondo, a pilgrimage site with religious significance. Then Monte Sant'Angelo sits high on a hilltop with medieval buildings and spiritual history. Once you reach Trani in the afternoon, you've got free time to wander the historic center and take in this port town that sits right on the Adriatic.

Trani
This morning a local guide shows you around Trani, starting with the cathedral that sits practically in the sea. You'll also walk through the Jewish quarter with its tight alleys and historical character. After that, you head inland to Castel del Monte, this mysterious octagonal fortress built by Frederick II back in the 1200s. As the day winds down, you'll have drinks with a view during sunset, looking out at all that medieval architecture.

Trani to Bari

Bari - Matera - Bari
Today is all about Matera, this ancient city carved into hillsides with stacked stone houses called Sassi. It's genuinely unlike other towns you've seen. This is the food that locals actually eat, not what restaurants serve tourists.

- Day 8
Bari to Ostuni to Lecce
The day starts in Ostuni, the White City, with its whitewashed buildings and views across the Itria Valley. From there, continue south to Lecce, which is basically the Baroque capital of southern Italy. The buildings, the churches, the piazzas all have this ornate golden look. End the evening with a drink and appetizers in the old town center.
